Arlen Specter On Meeting Sarah Palin: “She Radiated Sensuality. Her Skirt Rode Above Her Knees – Not Short, But Close”…

Labels: »
Apparently she likes basketball players. might want to work out more.
(WaPo)(Weasel)Former Sen. Arlen Specter’s new memoir, “Life Among Cannibals,” recounts his party switch, votes for President Obama’s stimulus package and the health care plan. But it’s not just about politics. For example, in one steamy passage on page 156, he recalls riding on Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) campaign bus in 2008 with former Alaska governor Sarah Palin. “She was a total charmer, very friendly,” Specter writes. “The few things she said were intelligent.” He doesn’t mention what they were, maybe because he was distracted. “We were sitting virtually knee to knee in the cramped bus,” he writes. “She radiated sensuality. Her skirt rode above her knees — not exactly short, but close.”

Palin Accused of really liking black people

Labels: »

The Washington Post is making fun of the fact that Sarah Palin does not hate black people. In other words she slept with one before her husband. That is the hypocrisy that makes me proud to not be a feminist. We are not all the same. No man today would be ridiculed for sleeping with a black person before their marriage. The charge the left makes is that sleeping with athletes is against ethical behavior for a reporter... um? Ok... so she is how old? Does it seem like in the video above that she is some kind of Professional who is a mover in the industry? It isn't a moral height, but the abuse she is taking makes me want to vote for her.
According to Tyson, having sex with a black man was something “white girls” had to do to “get that out of their system.
(Washington Post) In “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin,” Joe McGinniss’ soon-to-be-published book for former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate, one tidbit, passed along by the National Enquirer, concerns former NBA player Glen Rice. Palin, according to the book, had a fling thing with Rice in 1987, while he was in college and she was a sports reporter fresh out of college and working at KTUU in Alaska. Rice was a junior at the University of Michigan at the time and their one-night stand occurred while he and the Wolverines were playing in the Great Alaska Shootout. Less than a year afterward, Palin, hockey mom and former basketball player, married her husband Todd. According to the Enquirer, Rice confirmed the relationship to McGinniss. And, because keeping score is important, Michigan lost, 79-64, to Arizona in the semifinals. The Wolverines finished third, beating Alabama-Birmingham. Rice was named to the all-tournament team.

Caroline Glick blasts NeoCons and explains the Jacksonian foreign policy model

Labels: » » » » » » » » » » » » » » » » »

THE NEOCONSERVATIVE preference for populist forces over authoritarian ones propelled leading neoconservative thinkers and former Bush administration officials to enthusiastically support the anti-Mubarak protesters in Tahrir Square in Cairo in January. And their criticism of Obama for not immediately joining the protesters and calling for Mubarak’s removal from power was instrumental in convincing Obama to abandon Mubarak. Between those who predicted a flowering liberal democracy in a post-Mubarak Egypt and those who predicted the empowerment of radical, Muslim Brotherhood aligned forces in a post-Mubarak Egypt, it is clear today that the latter were correct. Moreover, we see that the US’s abandonment of its closest ally in the Arab world has all but destroyed America’s reputation as a credible, trustworthy ally throughout the region. In the wake of Mubarak’s ouster, the Saudis have effectively ended their strategic alliance with the US and are seeking to replace the US with China, Russia and India. In a similar fashion, the neoconservatives were quick to support Obama’s decision to use military force to oust Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi from power in March. The fact that unlike Syria’s Bashar Assad and Iran’s ayatollahs, Gaddafi gave up his nuclear proliferation program in 2004 was of no importance. The fact that from the outset there was evidence that al-Qaida terrorists are members of the US-supported Libyan opposition, similarly made little impact on the neoconservatives who supported Obama’s decision to set conditions that would enable “democracy” to take root in Libya. The fact that the US has no clear national interest at stake in Libya was brushed aside. The fact that Obama lacked congressional sanction for committing US troops to battle was also largely ignored. Neoconservative writers have castigated opponents of US military involvement in Libya as isolationists. In so doing, they placed Republican politicians like presidential candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin in the same pile as presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul and Pat Buchanan. The very notion that robust internationalists such as Bachmann and Palin could be thrown in with ardent isolationists like Paul and Buchanan is appalling. But it is of a piece with the prevailing, false notion being argued by dominant voices in neoconservative circles that “you’re either with us or you’re with the Buchananites.” In truth, the dominant foreign policy in the Republican Party, and to a degree, in American society as a whole, is neither neoconservativism nor isolationism. For lack of a better name, it is what historian Walter Russell Mead has referred to as Jacksonianism, after Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the US. As Mead noted in a 1999 article in The National Interest titled “The Jacksonian Tradition,” the most popular and enduring US model for foreign policy is far more flexible than either the isolationist or the neoconservative model. According to Mead, the Jacksonian foreign policy model involves a few basic ideas. The US is different from the rest of the world, and therefore the US should not try to remake the world in its own image by claiming that everyone is basically the same. The US must ensure its honor abroad by abiding by its commitments and maintaining its standing with its allies. The US must take action to defend its interests. The US must fight to win or not fight at all. The US should only respect those foes that fight by the same rules as the US does. THE US president that hewed closest to these basic guidelines in recent times was Ronald Reagan. A Jacksonian president would understand that using US power to overthrow a largely neutered US foe like Gaddafi in favor of a suspect opposition movement is not a judicious use of US power. Indeed, a Jacksonian president would recognize that it would be far better to expend the US’s power to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad – an open and active foe of the US – and so influence the nature of a post-Assad government. For all the deficiencies of the neoconservative worldview, at least the neoconservatives act out of a deep-seated belief that the US is a force for good in the world and out of concern for maintaining America’s role as the leader of the free world. In stark contrast, Obama’s foreign policy is based on a fundamental anti-American view of the US and a desire to end the US’s role as the leading world power. And the impact of Obama’s foreign policy on US and global security has been devastating. Read the whole thing.
It will be interesting to see if Caroline endorses anyone in the Republican primaries. Note that the main principle of Jacksonian foreign policy is one that Obama has rejected: American exceptionalism.

The US is different from the rest of the world, and therefore the US should not try to remake the world in its own image by claiming that everyone is basically the same? There goes the Jeane Kirkpatrick doctrine.

Israel Importing Russian Prostitutes with AIDS to West Bank to Infect Palestinians

Labels: » » » » »
...it would be stupid to inject your prostitutes with HIV because what goes around... comes around. The Russians have not exactly shown bias between Muslims and Jews. Just look around the Haaretz newspaper office. Let me tell you about 'em RUSSIAN whores!
The Zionist regime [Israel] wants to spread the HIV virus among Palestinian workers to the Palestinian nation. Schahed Saad, secretary general of the Palestinian workers' union said the Zionist regime [Israel] had imported 150 HIV infected prostitutes from Russia to the West Bank in hopes of them infecting Palestinian workers. (h/t Silke)
Update: It seems that this libel is not entirely new.
In fact
, on March 11, 1997, the Palestinian representative to the United Nations Human Rights Commission charged that "
The Israeli authorities infected, by injection, 300 Palestinian children with the HIV virus during the years of the intifada." Israel's ambassador to the U.N. commission at the time was Yosef Lamdan. Lamdan condemned the accusation and said: "The Palestinian observer has never had a reputation for accuracy and integrity, but today he has surpassed himself. This is a blatant barefaced lie, an absolute and total libel. The product of a sick and infected mind."

The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics recently held a seminar in which they discussed the fact that Palestinians were at risk of getting HIV "due to their daily contact with Israelis."

In related news, Israeli scientists have developed a method that wipes out HIV infected cells without affecting the healthy ones.

Eager to be the first to post the messages online, news outlets dispatched reporters armed with scanners to Juneau for the 9 a.m. release of the e-mails, which were not distributed electronically but in stacks of printed paper.

Who Says Sarah Palin Can't Think?

Labels:
Not this Palin:
Palin has also been talking about foreign policy. In an extended on-the-bus interview with Fox News’ Greta van Susteren, Palin addressed a proposal for $2 billion in U.S. aid to Egypt. “We don’t have the $2 billion!” Palin said. “Where are we going to get it? We’re going to go borrow it perhaps from China? We’ll borrow money from foreign countries to give to foreign countries.” The problem would be far worse, Palin said, if the Muslim Brotherhood plays a significant role in a new Egyptian government and “our U.S. dollars go to support a government that perhaps will not be friendly to the American government.” via myrightword.blogspot.com

...and no that image wasn't Sarah Palin... it was just what came up on Google

Really Sarah Palin, a 3rd Party, split the GOP Ticket?

Labels:

Sarah Palin gave an advance warning to the Republican Party. On an interview with Fox last night, a tired Sarah Palin spoke in-depth about resurgence, a third-party being formed to run in the 2012 Presidential election. Because of the change in conditions last year,  the incumbent  GOP are resisting the movement of freshman conservatives that were elected in the November 2010 election, Sarah believes.
she is trying to bring the Paultards back to the GOP. they really are Dixiecrats and she knows it. Dixiecrats as in Democrats...you know the party that used to lynch Jews and Blacks. Ron Paul's favorite pres was Garfield. many Conservatives in 1976 voted for Jimmy Carter

Maybe Sarah had too much pizza in NYC this past week with Donald Trump.

Donald Trump spoke after their meeting about the GOP ticket, running as an Independent. “I Could Win The Presidency As An Independent,” Trump explained at the Faith and Freedom Convention.   The reasoning behind the remark,  if Trump did not like the Republican nominee. Previously, Trump said he had no intentions of splitting the ticket.   Sadly, that would ensure an Obama 2012 re-election.  I wonder which side Trump is working for? Or is Trump craving for the spotlight to continue working for the liberal agenda of NBC?
What did I tell you? You obviously were not a Bloom County reader. I’d still have sex with Donald’s daughter… who is probably a really nice girl… who just happens to be pretty and I would of liked to of deflowered in a rude manner. Am I fired yet?
The National News outlets has begun their smear campaign in subtle fashion with Sarah Palin . The location Boston, MA, Sarah Palin “One Nation” tour stopped yesterday. Sarah  was displaying her knowledge with clarity  of Paul Revere midnight journey when asked by a reporter.  Brain Williams took a cheap shot at Palin at the conclusion of his story on NBC last night.
Sorry Brian, Sarah was correct.  Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride.
Oh, how soon we forget the Law Prof Obama mistakes of 57 States and the difference between of Memorial and Veteran’s Day.

All apologies will be accepted from the left  pundits. The list is here.
This is the NBC original video with Brian Williams, listen to his remark at the end.

point is she knows the story and she made a slip by pushing her slant on it that her opponents disagree with and it isn't that she is wrong... it is the liberals who went to school and got brainwashed instead of learning to think. Sarah is no dummy and people hurt themselves when they make that cla...im. It is a tried strategy to tie her to former Dan Quayle because he was a pretty boy who would get very angry when you would insult his I.Q.... but if anything she is very intelligent. Her problem stems from a need to reach out to the Ron Pauls in her party who are about to split the party in half... and I think we should let them. The Tea Party indeed is not worth keeping. The GOP is not about idealism.

she knew exactly what she was saying here... she was hoping to drop that historical slant... because she is right... and the knee jerk reaction on people against the constitution is not right.
actually.... if I remember correctly from what I learned... Paul Revere didn't succeed in warning anyone... and the story is more mythological then anything

the good news is Sarah Palin was caught wearing a Star of David

She is a person I really want to like, but she surrounds herself with people like this biker guy who needs to be taught a lesson about the Constitution. ...she had better start talking about her relationship with the Paul people and why she sold Israel out for a few nasty Paultard Tea Party trash.  Rolling Thunder” 2011, Black Leather, “loves the smell of emissions" via The Mad Jewess

Wonkette Pulls Offensive Post About Sarah Palin's Handicapped Son

Labels: »
Under intense pressure from readers and advertisers, the site's editor took the post down Thursday:
A post on this page satirizing Sarah Palin using her baby as a political prop was very badly done and sounded like the author was mocking the child and not just Sarah Palin/Sarah Palin’s followers.
The writer, Jack Stuef, has apologized for it. And we have decided to remove the post as requested by some people who have nothing to do with Sarah Palin, but who do have an interest in the cause of special needs children. We apologize for the poor comedic judgment.
After our article and others from conservative as well as liberal websites expressed outrage for the now deleted post, pressure was put on Wonkette editor Ken Layne by some unlikely sources including Mediaite's Tommy Christopher and Slate's David Weigel.
When Layne unrelented, companies such as Papa John's Pizza, Huggies, Nordstrom, and others cancelled their ads. Maybe this will finally teach these vulgarians that children shouldn't be used as pawns in this dirty game of politics. via newsbusters.org

America Has More Recoverable Fossil Fuel Resources Than Any Other Country

Labels: » » » » » » »
Doug Brady
Yes, despite the conventional wisdom being peddled by the inept Obama Administration, you read the headline correctly. Via Peter C. Glover at the Energy Tribune:
In case anyone missed it, let me repeat something that is of a magnitude of 10 on the scale of news-quakes for Joe Public USA: America’s combined energy resources are, according to a new report from the Congressional Research Service (CSR), the largest on earth. They eclipse Saudi Arabia (3rd), China (4th) and Canada (6th) combined – and that’s without including America’s shale oil deposits and, in the future, the potentially astronomic impact of methane hydrates.
Glover provides this helpful chart to illustrate his point:
Glover first debunks the liberal myth that America has no oil:
While the US is often depicted as having only a tiny minority of the world’s oil reserves at around 28 billion barrels (based on the somewhat misleading figure of ‘proven reserves’) according to the CRS in reality it has around 163 billion barrels. As Inhofe’s EPW press release comments, “That’s enough oil to maintain America’s current rates of production and replace imports from the Persian Gulf for more than 50 years”.
Of course to utilize our vast oil reserves, we have to actually drill for it. But alas, our president is determined to lock up those resources for the foreseeable future, a point Governor made in a recent Facebook Note. If anything, Obama prefers that America increase its reliance on foreign oil. Glover continues his piece discussing America’s enormous coal reserves:
Next up, there’s coal. The CRS report reveals America’s reserves of coal are unsurpassed, accounting for over 28 percent of the world’s coal. Much of it is high quality too. The CRS estimates US recoverable coal reserves at around 262 billion tons (not including further massive, difficult to access, Alaskan reserves). Given the US consumes around 1.2 billion tons a year, that’s a couple of centuries of coal use, at least.
We have the largest coal reserves in the world, and those reserves will last at least 200 years (probably much longer), and Obama has publicly stated he wants to “bankrupt” anyone who wants to build coal plants. Think about that. Glover next discusses natural gas which, when combined with its cousin, methane hydrates, is likely America’s most abundant energy resource:
In 2009 the CRS upped its 2006 estimate of America’s enormous natural gas deposits by 25 percent to around 2,047 trillion cubic feet, a conservative figure given the expanding shale gas revolution. At current rates of use that’s enough for around 100 years. Then there is still the, as yet largely publicly untold, story of methane hydrates to consider, a resource which the CRS reports alludes to as “immense…possibly exceeding the combined energy content of all other known fossil fuels.” According to the Inhofe’s EPW, “For perspective, if just 3 percent of this resource can be commercialized … at current rates of consumption, that level of supply would be enough to provide America’s natural gas for more than 400 years.”
We often hear from our friends on the left that America’s energy future is tied to “green energy”. This is as delusional as it is suicidal. There are no green energy “magic bullets” available now, nor will there be in the foreseeable future. They’re simply not economic. They only exist for two reasons. First, Obama is purposely following policies designed to make green energy appear economic by causing the price of its competition, conventional energy, to “necessarily skyrocket“. Obama’s hope is that consumers will choose expensive green energy instead of artificially expensive conventional energy.
He’s wrong, of course, because the real choice consumers will face is one between expensive green energy that doesn’t work and artificially expensive conventional energy that does. This is not a difficult choice. Consumers will simply spend more money on energy than is necessary, and less on everything else. Not exactly a recipe for economic growth.
The second reason inefficient green energy exists is because Obama is lavishing billions of dollars in taxpayer funds (at a time we can ill-afford such waste) on his corporate cronies. GE’s Jeffrey Immelt, for example, is receiving copious subsidies to build wind turbines and related infrastructure that would never be built absent said subsidies. And let’s not forget the Chevy Volt. (Incidentally, where do proponents of electric cars think electricity comes from? Do they think it’s created magically within walls and, to access it, one simply has to slap an outlet on the wall? If not, how do they think we can drive electric cars if they’re against building the coal and nuclear powered plants necessary to generate the electricity to charge them? Just asking.)
If these subsidies didn’t exist, and the Obama Administration stopped following policies designed to make conventional energy prices necessarily skyrocket, we wouldn’t even be talking about green energy. We don’t need it (see above), it’s not economic and, more importantly, it doesn’t work very well. Certainly not as well as conventional energy. Moreover, as Governor Palin recently noted, so inefficient is green energy that for every new “green job” created, four are lost in the overall economy. I’m not a mathematician, but that would appear to be a poor tradeoff, and with a real unemployment rate in excess of 16%, just plain stupid. And we can no longer afford to be stupid.
The good news is that we don’t have to be. We have more conventional energy resources than every other country in the world. With the recent tsunami disaster in Japan being exploited to put nuclear energy on hold for another generation at least, we need to be developing the proven energy resources with which this nation is so richly endowed. Unfortunately, to do this, we need a president whose goal is to make reliable energy more — not less — available, and one whose energy policy is designed to make energy more — not less — affordable. Sadly, the current occupant of the White House takes the opposite approach. To quote Governor Palin, “2012 can’t come soon enough”.
Read Glover’s entire article here. It’s eye-opening.

Sarah Palin Visiting Israel

Labels:
Sarah PalinSarah Palin, who ran for Vice President in the 2008 Republican campaign for the White House, will visit Israel this week. The former Alaska governor has campaigned for several candidates associated with the Tea Party movement, and is a possible candidate in the 2012 presidential election. According to IDF Radio, the conservative leader's visit is labeled as a private one, but she will be meeting Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu as well as other nationalist figures, including MK Danny Danon (Likud). The visit will probably be short, lasting less than two full days. She is expected to visit the Kotel, as well as Nazareth, and will tour Israel by helicopter. Palin recently expressed her strong support for Israel in a Fox News interview, in response to an initiative to cut all US foreign aid. "You know I'm sure that there's some waste and fraud in our foreign aid we need to find efficiencies and not give to any regime that would seek to harm Americans in any sense of the word 'harm,'" Palin said, "I don't support that kind of foreign aid at all. but when it comes to Israel - NO... I stand strong with Israel and unapologetically I say that America should keep this strong democratic ally that we have there in the Middle East and allow for protections around Israel." Israel, a formerly socialist state and a bastion of liberalism, does not have a conservative movement. Its politics do not revolve around issues like abortion, gay rights and other matters pertaining to family values, and its media is uniformly and strongly anti-religious. Palin is usually portrayed in a less-than-flattering light by Israeli news outlets, which appear to see her as a threat, while US President Barack Obama enjoys favor on mainstream news. Nonetheless, the press in Israel has been speculating recently on what it sees as a possible up-and-coming Israeli equivalent to the U.S. conservative movement. An 11-minute report on Channel 10 news last month focused on the activity of a pro-family-values movement called The Familists and labeled two women who have cooperated with it as potential "Israeli Sarah Palins." One is Daphne Netanyahu, editor of online magazine Mara'ah, who is also the sister-in-law of the Prime Minister. The other is MK Yulia Shamalov-Berkovich (Kadima), who has recently come out against what she termed "the feminist jihad" in Israel. The Channel 10 report acknowledged that the 'familist' movement has suffered from mainstream censorship but predicted that it could become the surprise of the next election. A Channel 2 media analyst on news talk show "The World This Morning" said the movement enjoys "unbelievable popularity" and women's magazine At drew a parallel between it and the Tea Party movement.  via israelnationalnews.com

YODELAYHOO!

did anything from Pittsburgh go right?
no peace in the middle east. ..all because of our crappy divas
@elderofziyon says Christina messed up the lyrics

oh but the story doesn't end here...
US magazine, the supermarket tabloid, embarrassed itself by taking seriously an online "satire" that claimed Sarah Palin criticized Christina Aguilera for flubbing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, and said she is a "spicy Latin princess" who should be deported. (Aguilera was born on Long Island and grew up in the Pittsburgh area.)

Astonishingly, Time made the same error:

Was Christina Aguilera's Star-Spangled Banner slip-up enough to provoke war? Conan apparently thinks so.

And you thought Sarah Palin went overboard by commenting that she wanted to deport the singer?

Governor Palin responded by whacking Time with a two-by-four:

Subject: Great job, MSM!

Jay - pls tell your bosses there at Time Magazine thank you for the invitations to attend the upcoming functions. I'll sure put a lot of thought into those invitations.

Then, have your editors retract Time's most recent ridiculous lies about me supposedly giving Sean Hannity a radio interview wherein I supposedly talked about Christina Aguilera (that I slammed her for her Nat'l Anthem mistake, and called for her deportation, etc). You guys were fooled into running a fake story that even US Weekly pulled and apologized for their blunder. Total lies - and you guys (once again) even put quotation marks around things I have never uttered. Then, Time needs to run an apology to Christina along with the retraction. (Add Hannity in your apology, too...those good folks don't deserve to be in a caustic, untrue story about me.) Thanks much - keep up the great work, Time Magazine.
The mistake by Time and US was incomprehensible: the "satire" they linked to and quoted from was headed "comedy," and a line at the end said, "For more Election 2012 laughs, visit www.SuperTuesdayNews.com - political satire served up daily!" Those should have been pretty good clues, even if you were partisan enough to think the Palin quotes were plausible.

Instead of admitting and apologizing for its mistake, Time added a "clarification" to its article:
(CLARIFICATION: Palin did not, in fact, say this. It was a tongue-in-cheek link to an article that was intended as a joke.)

What was intended as a joke, the current.com article or Time's link? The "clarification" implies that the magazine knew all along that the linked article was satire and its claims were untrue. But there is nothing "tongue-in-cheek" about Time's original line, "And you thought Sarah Palin went overboard by commenting that she wanted to deport the singer?" On the contrary, Time's line only makes sense if you assume the alleged quotes were true.

Newsweek recently sold for a dollar. At the rate Time is going, Newsweek may soon be eyeing it as a takeover target.

How the Internet Destroyed American Politics

Labels: » » » » » » » » » » » »
Politicians have realized that by lowering the barriers to political involvement they can attract people who otherwise wouldn't care. And so we have an entire class of people who are involved in politics because they think Obama's posters look cool or because they're angry that Sarah Palin's daughter almost won Dancing with the Stars. Call them the Alvin Greene vote. They don't understand a single issue, not even the dimmest populist ones, but they are emotionally involved with the image that the candidates project. They vote based on Saturday Night Live skits or what they hear on The View. Often young and dumb, for politicians they're an important target group. And they make up an increasingly large share of media consumers.
the internet has eroded the firewall between the American political process and the rest of the world. The damage that Soros and Assange have been able to do to America should be a wake-up call in that regard.
A lot of the world feels it should have a say in American elections, and 2008 was the first time they got a say. It will probably not be the last.

We don't know how much foreign money Obama received in 2008, but it's safe to say that this will continue to be a problem, and without rigid legal accountability, this will become a pattern in future elections. With every candidate soliciting online donations, it becomes all too easy for money to trickle in from abroad. Accountability may close that door part of the way, but not all the way, because too many 501c's also have an impact on the political process. As do many groups that are not directly involved in elections, but do play a part and can legally receive money from overseas. It will take hard work to insulate the American political process from foreign donations. And with the rise of foreign exchange trading and online gambling interests based overseas who work through American front companies, that may no longer be possible.

And foreign money is the least of the problem. With social media playing such a major role, foreign campaigners will become ubiquitous. The Obama campaign benefited from a social media network that was often very "international". In the age of the internet, it becomes all too easy to run phone banks out of Gaza, raise money in Moscow and have stories that shake up the campaign appear in The Guardian. When enough of the campaign is being outsourced, it becomes impossible to regulate or track who does or says what on the internet. And that means anti-American candidates for public office now have a base of support that they can rely on. It worked for Obama. But it won't end there.

The only thing that could avert this would be if such conduct were viewed as scandalous, but the media is unlikely to treat the outsourcing of a campaign as scandalous, unless it's done by a candidate they don't like. Which means punishing a politician for his politics, rather than his actions, another reminder of why the media cannot be trusted to vet candidates or do anything but act as cheerleaders for their man or woman.

The internet is international and it is internationalizing American elections. We are now told which candidate has international approval. We have campaign rallies overseas. We have money coming in from abroad and unofficial campaign volunteers operating abroad. And that is only be the beginning.

Technology has erased distance, and that means the end of all forms of isolation, privacy and integrity. It has also erased standards and barriers. It is up to us to try and create new standards in the age of the internet. If we fail to do this, then the medium will go on dictating the message.

Former President George W. Bush is privately critical of Sarah Palin (below), but stops short of criticizing the likes of Barack Obama in his upcoming memoir 'Decision Points.'

Palin is not qualified to be President, Bush has told friends. The Tea Party darling Palin is mulling a 2012 run for the White House.
Bush's 'Decision Points' comes out Tuesday.
Crown Publishers/AP
The 43rd President has told friends the ex-Alaska governor isn't qualified to be President and criticizes Arizona Sen. John McCain for putting Palin on the 2008 GOP ticket and handing her a national platform.
"Naming Palin makes Bush think less of McCain as a man," a Republican official familiar with Bush's thinking told the Daily News.
"He thinks McCain ran a lousy campaign with an unqualified running mate and destroyed any chance of winning by picking Palin."
As he prepares for the Tuesday launch of his memoir, "Decision Points," Bush scrupulously gives his successor a public pass - a statesmanlike stance urged by his father, President George H. W. Bush.
"I want my President to succeed because if my President succeeds my country succeeds, and I want my country to succeed," Bush typically says when asked about Obama.
"He won't call Obama by name but he won't trash him," a confidant noted, referring to Bush's comments in post-presidency speaking appearances, which have netted him millions, often at $100,000 or more a pop.
Still, he thinks Obama has failed as a President - a judgment supported by this week's robust Republican gains.
Several Bush friends, associates and longtime political allies said President 43 is worried about Obama's Afghanistan policy.
He supports the troop surge and more muscular drone strikes against terrorist targets, but also believes Obama has made a mess of relations with Pakistan.
"He thinks the policy is adrift," one insider reported.
Predictably, Bush also believes his tax cuts shouldn't be allowed to expire, including those for the wealthiest of Americans Obama wants to deep-six.
For the most part, Bush lets others worry about the politics these days while he focuses on building his presidential library and his lucrative speech business.

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin – one of the most influential conservative women of our time – said during a recent appearance on Fox News that she doesn’t have a problem with people smoking marijuana in their own homes. “If somebody’s gonna smoke a joint in their house and not do anybody else any harm,” she explained, they should be left alone.
It’s great to see Palin adopt a more libertarian view on soft drugs. I wish the conservative movement as a whole would follow in her footsteps. If you believe in liberty and individual, rather than collective responsibility for your life, I don’t quite see how you can support the extremely expensive, intrusive and otherwise over-the-top war on drugs.
Palin’s only caveat to legalizing marijuana altogether, by the way, is that she fears it sends the wrong message to children. Although I understand her concern, I have to disagree. Legalizing something doesn’t mean it’s perfectly fine to do it, nor that it’s moral and wise. Moral values and wisdom shouldn’t be legislated.
If legalized, it’s up to parents to teach their children that although smoking weed is legal, it’s best not do it nonetheless. This is the responsibility of America’s fathers and mothers, not the government – who isn’t your daddy, after all.
It’s great to see that there is yet another leader of the conservative movement who realizes that it’s none of the government’s business if you want to smoke weed in the privacy of your own home. Let’s hope others will follow in her footsteps. The way things are going now, it’s likely that marijuana will, if not be legal, at least be tolerated within a few years time – and that’s a decisively good development.
This should of been said on the campaign in 2008. They might of won. The bullshit compromise of not smoking outside your home is silly. You can't drink outside of your home either.

Palinism - December 2, 2009 - The New York Sun

This started to come into view for us when she gave her interview to Barbara Walters and was asked what she thought of Israel’s West Bank settlements. “I disagree with the Obama administration on that,” Palin replied. “I believe that the Jewish settlements should be allowed to be expanded upon, because that population of Israel is, is going to grow. More and more Jewish people will be flocking to Israel in the days and weeks and months ahead. And I don’t think that the Obama administration has any right to tell Israel that the Jewish settlements cannot expand.”

Her comments ignited something of a kerfuffle on the pro-Israel left, which has long opposed Israel’s settlements. But the formulation by the former Alaska governor struck us as a wonderful statement of an emerging policy. It provides a glimpse of a leader who would respect Israel’s right to establish, democratically, its own strategy in its own sphere and could restore the standing of America’s president in the eyes in the Israelis, among whom it has plunged since President Obama’s speech in Cairo and his out-reach to the non-democratic Arab leaders.

J Street attacks Sarah Palin

J Street attacks Sarah Palin

If anyone still needs to ask whose side they're on, you haven't been watching the news. J Street, the pro-Israel pro-'peace' organization, issued the following response to Sarah Palin's comments about Israel in her interview with Barbara Walters.
J Street rejects Sarah Palin’s comments attacking President Obama’s sensible policy on Israeli settlements in the West Bank yesterday during an ABC News interview with Barbara Walters.
Palin’s pandering to her right-wing base comes at the expense of the security of the State of Israel, the lives of those actually living the conflict, and the fundamental American interest in achieving a two-state solution in the near term. Her words reveal a glaring ignorance of damaging facts and a callous disregard of past and present U.S. policy.
For decades, American presidents have held that Israeli settlements in the West Bank are an impediment to peace. They are joined by the majority of Israelis and pro-Israel Americans who view the growing settlement enterprise as a threat to Israel’s very future as a Jewish democracy.
President Obama’s administration continued along that path yesterday, rightly and sensibly expressing concern with unilateral actions on both sides that would preempt the negotiation of final status issues that are necessary to achieve a two-state solution to the conflict.
J Street supports President Obama and Middle East Peace Envoy George Mitchell as they press the parties to begin the hard work of achieving a two-state solution, the only way to secure Israel’s future as a Jewish, democratic homeland.
Whose side are they on? Not Israel's side. The vast majority of Jewish Israelis do not believe that 'settlements' are an 'impediment to peace.' The 'impediment to peace' is the 'Palestinian' refusal to accept a State of Israel of any size in this region. The vast majority of Israelis do not believe that the 'settlement enterprise' is a threat to Israel's future as a Jewish democracy.
But J Street continues to blindly support President Obumbler. When he is thrown out of office in 2012, will J Street fall into the dustbin of history? I sure hope so.

Palin's retreat

It is a win win situation. Palin doesn't hurt Alaska with her ambitions and she can move forward with a national campaign after she is rested. a brilliant plan. I was very impressed with her speech today. I have no doubt that she will be America's first female commander in chief. guys in New York like me are rooting for a real strong woman to show the world values not Gloria Steinem lies about androgyny. Palin is about dignity. she will lead us out of the gender cultural wars of the 20th century. as I watched the wretched death of Michael Jackson and his world last week I am reminded of what Palin is fighting for and what she is up against. Sarah is a strong woman who breaks the mold. she is strong on the terms of woman and she is a leader because she understands where her strengths are. she is not creating the grand myopic androgynous lie of the blue states.
