EU volunteers to monitor ships heading for Gaza

The European Union has volunteered to 'monitor' ships heading for Gaza.
French Foreign Minister, Bernard Kouchner, said Sunday night that the EU is prepared to monitor the ships heading for Gaza to ensure that they bring only humanitarian supplies and not weapons.

In his remarks he said, "We can implement strict checks on shipping cargo, and we would be happy to do so."

Fortunately, there is no need for Israel to answer this particular offer (the last time the Europeans offered to monitor something in this part of the World, they fled to Israel when Hamas took over Gaza). Israel Radio reported on Monday night that Hamas rejected the offer outright, saying that boats could be inspected at their port of departure and then allowed to sail straight to Gaza. Good luck with that.

So the E.U. wants to monitor ships heading to Gaza.... but who will monitor the E.U.? ...that is if Hamas complies
