the best way to insure that Marriage doesn't work is to make a system that encourages women's autonomy from men.

If limited-government conservatives are dreaming of taking back America for fiscal sanity in the November elections, they should study how the unprecedented decline in marriage and the increase in illegitimacy are the major causes of our bloated government and its gigantic welfare spending.  In 2008, 40.6% of children born in the United States were born outside of marriage; that's 1,720,000 children. This is not, as the media try to tell us, a teenage problem.  Only 7% of those illegitimate babies were born to girls under age 18, and over three-fourths were born to women over age 20. The problem is the collapse of marriage as the social institution responsible for the costs of the care of children. via investors.com

The best way for tyranny to stay in power is to put those that are docile cows into positions of power. Biden doesn't get that http://xrl.us/feminists are destroying our country. Title IX has caused men to drop out of school at a greater rate in an economy where the only growing sector is pink collar jobs. Top that with stimulus money that enforces affirmative action when the only sector hurting is the one's that men work in.

There really needs to be an understanding with not just our leaders, but with our teachers down and social workers that the only way to cut costs to meet a budget so we can decrease the debt is through social change. Not an easy task. I fear however that some neanderthal libertarian will come in and just cut all social programs without spending on new social programs that teach sustainable living... aka Conservative values and fathers for children.
 

If women really are the bread winners because we become a service oriented society, I don't think these Sugar Mamas will have the knowledge to still need men to raise their children. they default to government as their working model and this is how we got here. something needs to give. the problem with these cows is they are not intelligent. they are docile to fit in and accommodate. They will not have the creativity to realize their kids are all messed up because they are lacking a male. they still see men as a bank account.  What is more seeing a male as a need might hurt their vanity.  Women like to think of themselves as the object of need.  They see men as providers, not as a psychological pillars of strength for their children, but there is something men have that their children need to be stable citizens.  Children need a sense of responsibility and accountability.  They need to understand the burden of decision making.  These career women might be bringing home the bacon, but only because they are better at doing as they are told.  This does not bring a good character in children.  We are killing tomorrows leaders by giving children subservience to others as their only role model.

Catholic father baptizes Jewish daughter and defies court order

As a man who made a child with a gentile this issue comes close to my heart, but I understand that in the end a human being grows up and makes his own decisions. We should have more faith in our kids then to assume that they are all just blank states for brainwashing. I am confident that no matter what amount of Christianity my son's grandparents give him that in the end he is going to want to know the other opinion. Jewish people need to have more faith in Judaism.

If a Christian is truly religious they will try to understand what Rabbinical Judaism is saying. Religion should not be a loyalty like a sports team. The questions religion proposes between Judaism and Christianity are in such a way that if there is no coercion that each individual has an opportunity to find either direction. There are also many variations between the duality of these faiths.

As a Jew many are shocked that I consider the idea of Kabbalah to be deeply pagan and idolatrous. The Torah to me is inspired by g-d and while probably very accurate is not to be considered the actual words of g-d. This puts even myself in conflict with other Jews and it is a deep philosophical schism that I have with a people who often ritually kiss Torah scrolls. I see no reason to any manifestation of g-d in literature. One would think this would put me at odds with the Jewish community, but it doesn't because the schism has not been politicized like the break between Judaism and Christianity.

Throughout the video interview Rebecca Reyes tears-up. She claims "This is about parenting. This is not about religion." But the interview transcripts tell a different story.

I truly wonder how interested in g-d either of these parents are or if this is really about their egos and taking punitive action on a former lover. It is so sad that their child is caught in the middle of this. The father is breaking his word and neither parent has understanding of their faith. This is a decision for the child to make.

Joseph Reyes and Rebecca Shapiro Reyes of Chicago are embroiled in a highly charged divorce and custody battle which has opened the ultimate interfaith can of worms.
The US media spotlight is focused on a plethora of divisive issues involving faith, freedom of religion, and parental rights.
Reyes, an alleged convert to Judaism, reverted back to Catholicism in the wake of a failing marriage. He had his 3-year old Jewish daughter baptized in a Catholic church without consulting his estranged Jewish wife, and then proceeded to invite the media to watch him parade his daughter to church in defiance of a court restraining order.
He now faces a possible prison sentence.

Christian's arranged Islamic marriage is invalid

The marriage was voided from the Islamic side because the arrangement voided the marriage on conversion. would be legally more interesting if this were not the case:

A judge in Ohio ruled a marriage arranged by a Muslim father for his 17-year-old daughter who now has converted to Christianity isn't valid, clearing her of accusations she made false statements in applying for a marriage license with the man who now is her husband.

The little-reported case developed in Ohio, where Larry Crain, senior counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, argued on behalf of his client, identified only as "Nishan."

Nishan was married last month to a man she began dating this year when she converted to Christianity, the ACLJ said.

She didn't reveal her conversion to her "devout Muslim family members" until just before the marriage because she feared what they might do.

When her father discovered her plans, he allegedly tried to assault her and then filed a claim that she had falsified her marriage-license application because of the earlier arranged marriage.

The ACLJ explained, "Nishan's marriage was arranged by her father during a trip to Karachi, Pakistan, in May 2007 following her graduation from high school. Three days after the 'nikah' ceremony, Nishan and her father returned to the United States.

"She remained confused about the ceremony conducted during her trip to Pakistan and later took precautionary steps to annul her vows by preparing an affidavit for the U.S. consulate in Pakistan in August of 2007," the legal team said. "She gave her affidavit to her father who assured her he would send the necessary paperwork to the consulate. Her family never again mentioned her alleged Paksitani husband and Nishan believed that all necessary steps had been taken to annul any alleged marriage vows."

However, her father's anger over her conversion to Christianity and her marriage included the statement she had falsified her marriage-license application in the U.S.

"The fact is that Nishan never knowingly or intentionally misstated her marital status on her application … the fact is that even if Nishan's own attempts to nullify her Pakistani marriage were insufficient, her conversion to Christianity in 2009 effectively annulled her partial marriage pursuant to Islamic law, which provides that if either spouse leaves Islam … and the two never consummated their union, the 'nikah' is immediately annulled," the team explained.

The court listened to testimony from Nishan, her father and the man who claimed to be her Pakistani husband, and said Nishan's version of the events was "credible."

"On cross-examination, the father denied assaulting or abusing his daughter or making any threat to his daughter that a 'fatwa' – an Islamic religious ruling – could be issued against her. In fact, the father told the court that he did not know what the term 'fatwa' meant – testimony that the court labeled 'not believable,'" the organization reported.

"This is an important case involving the rights of a former Muslim to accept and convert to Christianity. And this decision no doubt will be watched closely by other Christian converts in this country who cannot publicly testify about their conversion to Christianity for fear of facing retaliation – and even harm – from their own family members," the report said.
