Soros' and Silverman's contempt for Jewish education

Jewish education is all about profanity, bestiality, and dishonesty--if George Soros, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sarah Silverman are to be believed.

The so-called "Jewish Council for Education and Research," in reality a super PAC backed by Soros's son Alexander, has produced a new anti-Romney ad in which Jackson exhorts a family to "Wake the F--- Up!" and work for President Barack Obama's re-election. Earlier this year, the Jewish Council released an ad in which Silverman simulates sex with a dog to mock Jewish GOP donor Sheldon Adelson.

There is nothing "Jewish" at all about these ads--far from it. Yet Alexander Soros--with money, no doubt, from Soros père--uses the "Jewish" label to give the imprimatur of respectability to these profane and profoundly unfunny ads. 

Not even the smug liberalism which emanates from some corners of the Jewish institutional world would stoop as low as Soros. He has defamed the enterprise of Jewish education and the Jewish community. In any other context--i.e. if a Jew were not involved--the abuse of the "Jewish" label would be considered antisemitic.
In addition to profound bigotry, what the "Jewish Council" ads suggest is the desperation of Obama supporters in Washington and Hollywood. The Jackson ad suggests that Democrats fear and know that their supporters are less motivated to vote today than in 2008. It repeats several outright lies about Romney--i.e. that he does not believe in any kind of safety net--and in the end resorts to profanity, not only from Jackson but from a child.
The irony of a self-described "Jewish" organization releasing such an ad during the Jewish high holidays and at a time of profound threats to Israel and to Jews in Europe suggests an insensitivity bordering on malice.

Portman and Hollywood turn coats against Assad

Celebrities rallied on Thursday, the first anniversary of the conflict, in support of a message to Syrian President Bashar Assad and the United Nations: Stop One Year of Bloodshed. Actresses Susan Sarandon and Portman penned hand-written notes which campaigners posted on Facebook.

If these celebrities were serious they would apologize for their public relations recently for the Assad regime. They would start out fresh and call out the abuses of power in Jordan and other Arab nations. They would question why Kerry, Pelosi in a stupid looking burqa and most recently Dennis J. Kucinich were sent to Syria as diplomats when they were warned. They did it to spit in the face of those of us who knew better. They did it for political gain and the blood of Syrians suffer because of their arrogant actions

An Iranian filmmaker has won the country's first Oscar, taking the prize for the best foreign-language film at the Academy Awards in Los Angeles, and Tehran has celebrated by touting it as a victory over its archenemy.  Director Asghar Farhad's "A Separation," already the recipient of a number of high-profile international awards, was awarded an Oscar on February 26 over films from Belgium, Poland, Canada, and Israel. But it was the win over the Israeli entry, "Footnote," that has garnered most of the attention. "This is the beginning of the collapse of the influence of the Zionist lobby over American society," read a statement issued by Javad Shamaghdari, the head of Iran's Cinematic Agency. Describing the win as an "unusual reaction to the Zionist lobby," Shamaghdari said the Oscar marked the "beginning of the collapse" of Israeli influence. (“The American judgment bowed before the Iranian culture and Oscar voters showed a different reaction to the Zionist lobby, which is escalating war,” he added.) Iranian state television, meanwhile, reported that the Iranian movie had "left behind" a film from the "Zionist regime." With the victory, according to a report by Iran's Student News Agency (ISNA), an "Iranian flag has been planted atop America."

Coen Brothers: Boycotting Israel is a mistake‏

The successful Hollywood filmmakers arrived in Israel to receive a
million-dollar award from Tel Aviv University.

While on a visit to Israel to collect a million-dollar award from Tel
Aviv University, American filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen said that they
did not believe that boycotting Israel would solve political problems.
The production-direction team responsible for a string of successful
Hollywood dramas in the last two decades, from The Big Lebowski to
Miller's Crossing, came to the country to receive the Dan David prize
for their creative contribution to filmmaking.

The Dan David prize committee called the duo a unique example in
cinematic history for their abilities to tell a simple story in a
complex manner.
The prize is named for businessman and philanthropist Dan David and is
administered by a board of directors headed by Tel Aviv University
President Professor Yoseph Klafter. Ten percent of the recipients' prize
money is donated on their behalf to doctorate and post-doctorate student
grants.
Responding to a question about musicians and film makers who boycott the
State of Israel because of its policies and actions, screenwriter and
director Ethan Coen said, "People respond to real problems from the
heart, and they think that's the right thing to do. We don't agree with
that opinion, that that's how to deal with these problems."
The brothers' Jewish heritage is on display in a number of their films,
most obviously in 'A Serious Man' – translated into Hebrew as 'The Good
Jew'. Despite many references to Jewish cultural themes in their movies,
the two deny that their own Jewishness is necessarily connected to their
filmmaking.
"There were Jewish characters, but in regards to whether our background
influences our film making… who knows?" says Joel. "We don't think about
it… There's no doubt that our Jewish heritage affects how we see things."
"We grew up in a Jewish community, but we never thought to make a story
that deals with Israel," Joel continued. "We don’t really know Israel -
we write American stories. That's what we know."
"We've wanted to come here for a long time, but life got in the way,"
Joel explains. "We're very happy for this opportunity. We'll spend a few
days at Tel Aviv University."
The Coen Brothers were nominated for twelve Academy Awards in the last
year alone for their most movie 'True Grit'. The film follows a decade
of successes that include 'No Country for Old Men', 'A Serious Man', and
'O Brother, Where Art Thou?'
The other prize winners for 2011 were University of California at San
Francisco Professor Cynthia Kenyon and Harvard Medical School Professor
Gary Ruvkun for their work in gerontology and Stanford University
Medical School Professor Marcus Feldman for his work in the evolutionary
sciences.

Motion Picture Academy Gives Oscar to Jean-Luc Godard a filmmaker who Essentially Accused Israel of Hitler

The Zionist Organization of America has condemned a decision by the Motion Picture Academy to grant an honorary Oscar for lifetime achievement to French-Swiss filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard.

Godard has what the ZOA calls an 'unremitting obsession with Jews.'

In 1968, said ZOA, Godard called Jewish producer Pierre Braunberger “sale juif” (“filthy Jew”); in a 1976 documentary he contrasted the lives of a French and Arab family and featured flickering images of Golda Meir and Adolf Hitler, proposing them as comparable tyrants.

According to the statement, Godard has also defended the massacre of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre, described the State of Israel as “a cancer on the map of the Middle East,” and has justified acts of Arab terrorism by saying that “Israel is a paradoxical form of Nazism’s historical resurgence.”

A more recent anti-Israel comment made by Godard was in a 2009 article in Le Monde, in which he is quoted as making an off-camera comment during the filming of a 2006 documentary: “Palestinians’ suicide bombings in order to bring a Palestinian State into existence ultimately resemble what the Jews did by allowing themselves to be led like sheep to be slaughtered in gas chambers, sacrificing themselves to bring into existence the State of Israel … Basically, there were six million kamikazes …". The odious comparison was followed by his saying that "Hollywood was invented by Jewish gangsters.”

ZOA expresses its disappointment at the Academy’s response when presented by the Forward with some of Godard’s remarks, which read: “The Academy is aware that Jean-Luc Godard has made statements in the past that some have construed as anti-Semitic. We are also aware of detailed rebuttals to that charge. Anti-Semitism is of course deplorable, but the Academy has not found the accusations against M. Godard persuasive.”

Godard won't be there. Read the whole thing.

Randy Quaid, wife seek asylum in Canada

Actor Randy Quaid told Canada's immigration board Friday that he and his wife are seeking asylum from "the murderers of Hollywood" and will therefore apply for refugee status in Canada, after they were arrested on U.S. warrants related to vandalism charges. The pair were arrested on Thursday in a shopping area of an affluent Vancouver neighborhood and were jailed on outstanding U.S. warrants. The Quaids are wanted in Santa Barbara, where they missed a court hearing Monday on felony vandalism charges. The Quaids were ordered released from custody Friday, but must each post $9,750 bail and fulfill their promise to appear for their next hearing Thursday. Santa Barbara County Senior Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter said Friday that Mr. Quaid and his wife Evi's bail increased to $500,000 apiece. Their attorney, Robert Sanger, said he hoped the situation could be resolved but declined comment citing the pending case. The couple told the immigration adjudicator they are being persecuted in the United States. Evi Quaid begged a Canadian immigration adjudicator not to force them to return, saying on Friday that friends, such as actors David Carradine and Heath Ledger, have been "murdered" under mysterious circumstances and she worried something would happen to her husband next. "We feel our lives are in danger," she said. "Randy has known eight close friends murdered in odd, strange manners ... We feel that we're next." via post-gazette.com
