(Bashar Al-Assad's wife, Asma)not true... here is a related Asma video.
A video blogger reedited segments from a CNN interview Syria's First Lady
Asma Assad gave in 2009 during Israel's Operation Cast Lead in Gaza to
make it seem as if she is in fact referring to the current violent
crackdown in her own country.
In the remixed video uploaded to
Youtube, Assad is seen declaring that "the barbaric assault on innocent
civilians has been horrific,” and, “this is the 21st century, where in
the world could this happen?" as images of the massacres in the city of
Homs are displayed.
In its report of the video satire, the New York Times said it was not clear who made the remix, but that it was
uploaded to YouTube last week by an anonymous video blogger who had
posted video of a protest in the Syrian capital, Damascus, in January.
Before that, the same person uploaded a series of brief comedy sketches,
apparently shot in Britain.
Maybe she'll get another Vogue interview there: Hating Israel isn't enough: Syria's first couple, Asma and Bashar al-Assad, at their private office overlooking Damascus. (EOZ)
Palestine Press Agency Reports: According to Arab diplomatic sources in Britain, the wife of the Syrian President, Asma Assad, fled from Damascus to London together with her three children about two weeks ago in the face of the expansion of the protests against her husband's regime.
