Obama Holds Big 2012 Lead Over Republicans

President Barack Obama retains a big lead over possible Republican rivals in the 2012 election despite anxiety about the economy and the country’s future, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll on Wednesday. Obama’s approval rating inched up 1 percentage point from May to 50 percent but the number of Americans who believe the country is on the wrong track also rose as pricier gasoline, persistently high unemployment and a weak housing market chipped away at public confidence. via matzav.com

But outrage alone won't see us through. Neither will all the criticisms of Obama. Every rebellion has to give way to a vision of a better nation. And it must transcend the personal ambitions of its leaders, but not the personal grievances of its people.

Young Obama Was Abused by Muslims in Indonesia

Young Obama endured racial abuse at hands of Muslims in Indonesia. According to a new biography on Barack Obama, not everything was ideal when the young Obama spent time in Indonesia during a portion of his childhood. In a new book by a reporter from the New York Times, young Barack was subjected to apparent episodes of racism that also included physical violence. Indonesia—a predominantly Muslim country—is apparently very racist towards black people, according to the book by Janny Scott. The racism also extended to Indonesian adults making fun of Obama’s skin color when his mother would bring him to work at the US embassy.

The yet-to-be-published book further sheds light on the way that minorities are treated in Muslim countries like Indonesia. Apparently, it was and is a well-known fact that many Muslims in Indonesian are simply racist towards blacks, as confirmed by American Elizabeth Bryant, a woman who was familiar with the young Obama and his mother when they were in Indonesia in the 1960s. According to Bryant, expatriate Westerners were amazed that Obama’s mother—free spirit and likely hippie Ann Dunham—would take a black child with her to Indonesia because of the disrespect that the Muslims there have for blacks.

The racism against blacks that Obama experienced in Indonesia is also a bad reflection on Dunham for not using her judgment better...

What kind of a mother would bring a child that she had good reason to suspect would endure racial abuse to such a country? Let’s review who Dunham was to shed a little more light on this irresponsible parent. She married Obama’s daddy—that would be the womanizer and the alcoholic—only so that he could leave her and little Barack when the future president was two years old. After a divorce, she continued her exploration of the exotic by remarrying Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian she encountered while she was at the University of Hawaii. Dunham would break up with Soetoro, too, and then dump little Barack into the lap of her parents in Hawaii as she continued to pursue her studies elsewhere. Suffice it to say that she refused to provide a stable home for young Barack, to say the least.
In light of this, it makes all the more sense why she could also transplant young Barack halfway around the world to a country whose Muslim population was pretty much racially hateful to her son. I suppose her free-spirit ways just always trumped what was in the best interests of raising her son.
One episode of racial abuse little Barack endured was that Muslim schoolchildren launched rocks at him while calling him racial epithets. I suppose that's just another in the long line of examples of “tolerance” that the “religion of peace” is known for, right? Furthermore, Lolo Soetoro is also supposed to have actually physically abused Dunham, as recounted in the book during an encounter that left Obama’s mother with a towel pressed to her face and blood running from her face.
After Obama’s first-hand experience with racism from the Muslim world, I have to wonder why he, as an adult, is doing everything he can to bend over backwards to appease the Muslims! I guess when he grew into adulthood, he, transforming to become a good, little liberal, conveniently forgot the racism and hostility from the Muslims in Indonesia. And that certainly explains why he’s addicted to always saying “sorry” to the Muslim world for the US’ non-existent transgressions.

Sounds to me like Obama has all the advantages, but this is no usual situation. The man has been a failure in every aspect. The last election was close... the danger is the GOP will run a candidate who reflects the worst policies of Obama, especially in the Mid East. Also... this time around it will be a safe bet that Obama will have to show his birth certificate. McCain was a gentleman, but a few candidates will come forward who will point out the hypocrisy of a sitting President who is afraid to show his birth certificate. I'm also betting on a few other surprises. It has always been suspect to me what Obama did in Pakistan after he dropped out of college. I do believe there was a war going on in Afghanistan at the time. It was always curious how Obama suddenly had money to pay for the Ivy League from the Saudis after being a drugged out dropout that left the country.

Former presidential candidate Ralph Nader says that President Obama should be impeached for committing war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The consumer advocate and former presidential candidate said in an interview that aired Friday that Obama has committed "war crimes" on the same level as President Bush.
"Why don't we say what's on the minds of many legal experts; that the Obama administration is committing war crimes and if Bush should have been impeached, Obama should be impeached," Nader said in an interview with the anti-war Democracy Now! organization.
Nader's comments came before the U.S. launched military strikes into Libya on Saturday but are among the toughest criticisms Obama has endured from the left.

President Obama has extended a waiver for an additional six months delaying moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem.
Obama's waiver, issued Wednesday, follows in the footsteps of predecessors Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, who also extended the waiver every six months since the law was adopted in 1995 calling for the move of the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Presidents are permitted to delay the move on national security grounds.
Some Jewish groups have pushed for the United States to move the embassy as a way to bolster Israeli claims to the city. Those favoring the use of the waiver say that such a step would anger the Arab world and put the United States in the position of taking sides on an issue that should be settled in peace talks.

But now Obama has added one of his own--and he wonders why his Mideast peace talks lies in shambles:

It seems that President Obama’s confrontational and accusatory attitude toward Israel during the last two years has encouraged the anti-Semites in the international community, who did not dare to reveal themselves during the Bush Administration. Now, they have resurfaced and are making Israel the new scapegoat for all the evils in the world. Furthermore, the Obama Administration has been an active participant in international bodies with bias against Israel which the Bush Administration refused to join or concur with. In some instances, the current Administration even consented to these bodies’ investigations of so-called Israeli “crimes.” But more cynically and morally repugnant, Obama has been using the threat of international isolation to pressure Israel into more concessions.
Otherwise, why would one of the assurances reportedly given by the US to Israel, in an effort to get the West Bank settlement freeze extended for 60 days, be an American commitment to use its veto to prevent UN recognition of a unilaterally declared Palestinian state? Under Presidents Bush and Clinton it was taken for granted that the veto would be used, as it was understood that any peace deal premised on the “two-state solution” would only be decided through negotiations.
Reportedly, Prime Minster Netanyahu also fears that as soon as any new 60-day freeze ends, and with the November US midterm elections over, the Obama Administration - with the help of the international community - will aim to force a permanent agreement on Israel by presenting a “take it or leave it peace plan.”
Such initiative would publicly support the Palestinian position that the 1967 borders should be the basis for a future Palestinian state, including a divided Jerusalem.

Breaking 40-year precedent
In the last two years, Israel has been under a new kind of attack on her legitimacy and on her right to exist. A campaign has been conducted where many of Israel’s enemies are employing legal tricks, through multinational and international bodies, to present Israel as an illegitimate pariah state that should be isolated like Apartheid South Africa.
Sadly, the Obama Administration was an active participant in these efforts until it recently felt the backlash from Jewish voters and has eased off before the midterm elections.
In May, the Obama Administration broke 40 years of US precedent and shamefully signed a unanimous resolution adopted at a meeting of the 189 signatories of The Nuclear Proliferation Treaty, singling out Israel’s atomic program without even mentioning Iran’s. The draft urged Israel to sign the NPT and put its nuclear facilities under UN International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards.
During the previous NPT conference in 2005, the Bush Administration refused to accept parts of the draft document that called on Israel to join the NPT and turned down the idea of holding talks in order to create a region free of nuclear weapons.
While President Bush refused to join the UN Human Rights Council and lend it legitimacy, President Obama’s first foreign policy decision was to join the Council, knowing that it has adopted more resolutions and decisions condemning the state of Israel than all others 191 UN members combined.
In August, under heavy Obama Administration pressure, Israel agreed for the first time ever to participate in a UN review panel investigating IDF actions in the Gaza-bound flotilla incident.
It appears that letting Israel feel isolated and alone while relying on the US as her only friend is the Obama Administration’s strategy to “deliver” Israel to the Arabs. However, recent polls reveal great support for Israel by the American people.
The American people who care about Israel’s survival must stand by Israel in the upcoming November elections and only vote for the Republican Party, to deflect future US pressure by Obama. In the meantime, the Israeli government must wait for the American voter’s verdict against Obama and the Democratic Party.

Horsed around in Koran class: Andrew Higgins writes in the Washington Post about Santo Fransiskus Asisi at "Catholic school in Indonesia seeks recognition for its role in Obama's life." It includes these details:

An old school registry at Asisi records how, under the name "Barry Soetoro," he entered first grade at the start of the school year on Jan. 1, 1968. He was registered as a Muslim, based on his stepfather's faith. ... While at Besuki, Obama received instruction in Islam. But, recalled Rully Dasaad, a former classmate, Obama horsed around in class and, during readings of the Koran, got "laughed at because of his funny pronunciation."

Attended Muslim classes and prayers: Obama's former grade three teacher at Menteng One in Jakarta says he studied the Koran and prayed with Muslims despite the objections of his mother, Ann Dunham, a Catholic, reports Anne Barrowclough for the The Times (London):

The teacher, Effendi, who taught at Menteng One for 29 years, remembers Mr Obama as a "fat, curly-haired, curious boy". The school had an international mix of pupils, including Christians, Hindus, Buddhists and Muslims. Mr Obama attended classes on Islam while the Christians attended classes on Christianity, said Effendi. Barry, he said, was alone among the pupils in that he insisted on attending both.
"His mother did not like him learning Islam, although his father was a Muslim. Sometimes she came to the school; she was angry with the religious teacher and said 'Why did you teach him the Koran?'" said Effendi. "But he kept going to the classes because he was interested in Islam. He would also join the other pupils for Muslim prayers."
