Israel arrests 13 Palestinians on suspicion of being behind a shooting attack on an IDF force in Ramallah on Jan. 20
Kalashnikov used in the attack was given to the terrorists by an officer in the Palestinian intelligence service.
The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and Israel Defense Forces recently arrested 13 Palestinians on suspicion of being behind a shooting attack on an IDF force in Ramallah on Jan. 20, the security service said in a statement Monday.
There were no casualties during the shooting attack at the Am'ari refugee camp in Ramallah, but some damage was caused to a military vehicle.
Among those arrested are some employees of the Red Crescent, the Palestinian Red Cross, in Ramallah, one of whom also served as a goalie in the Palestinian Olympic soccer team.
It was also revealed by the Shin Bet that one of the weapons used in the attack, a Kalashnikov, was given to the terrorists by an officer in the Palestinian intelligence service, which oversees employees of the Red Crescent.
The 13 suspects who were arrested, all residents of the Am'ari refugee camp, revealed in their interrogations that they took part in extensive activities against IDF forces guarding the security fence.
The main suspects linked to the shooting attack at the IDF force in January are:
Salah Bararel, born in 1989, a resident of Am’ari, affiliated with Hamas, employed as a guard at the Red Crescent.
Omar Abu Ravis, born in 1989, a resident of Am’ari, affiliated with Hamas, employed at the Red Crescent in Ramallah, is also the goalie of the Palestinian Olympic soccer team.
Fuad Ousha, born in 1989, a resident of Am’ari; barber shop owner (in custody of Palestinian security forces).
Ahmed Khattab, born in 1989, a resident of Am’ari, worked as a guard at the Red Crescent.
During an interrogation of the suspects, it was revealed that Salah Bararel and Omar Abu Ravis used two Kalashnikov rifles, which Ravis received from his friend Manzar Abbas two months earlier, to carry out the attack.
Fuad Ousha acted as a lookout during the attack.
After the attack, the shooters left the rifles inside a bag in an abandoned house, and allegedly planned to transfer them to a new hiding spot the next day. Eventually, Omar Abu Ravis gave the weapons, in the bag, to Ahmed Khatab, who after Abu Ravis’ arrest transferred them back to Manzar Abbas.
During their questioning, the suspects also revealed that they had planned other shooting attacks against IDF troops stationed at Attara, Geva checkpoint, Atarot checkpoint, even in Maaleh Adumim, Ofra and Nablus.

Just like during the Holocaust... it was the ambulances of the Red Cross that supported the Nazi side.

The medical NGO's war on Israel

Giulio Meotti summarizes the extreme bias that the medical NGO's display toward Israel.

A case in point is how the Red Cross allocates personnel and budgets worldwide. For North Africa, the Red Cross has one office in Tunis. For “Israel/Occupied Territories/Autonomous Territories,” the Red Cross has offices in Jenin, Tulkarm, Nablus, Kalkilya, Ramallah, Jericho, Bethlehem, Hebron, Gaza, Khan Yunis, Majdel Shams, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv.
Western newspapers, imbued with the ideological reports of medical NGOs, establish a comparison between the Palestinians and South Africa's blacks, who were critically injured and left to bleed to death if there was no “black” ambulance to rush them to a “black” hospital. Jewish altruism never finds its legitimate space in the global media because it doesn’t fit in with the stereotype propagated by the medical NGOs.

It would be enough to stroll through the corridors of Israeli hospitals to understand how false the “apartheid” charge by medical NGOs is. Large Arab families stand with Israelis in the corridors of the maternity wards where one is born and in the oncology clinics where one dies. Through the private program “Save the heart of a child,” the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon cures congenital cardiologic defects in Arab children from all over the world. About half the children it treats are from the nearby Palestinian areas and there have also been some from Iraq and Iran, both technically at war with Israel.

Medical organizations never blamed the Palestinians for attacks on Israeli hospitals. Hadassah University Medical Center on Jerusalem’s Mount Scopus recently released a report, noting that it suffered 43 attacks by east Jerusalem Arabs in 2011. During the last “Nakba Day” events alone, 11 firebombs were thrown into the Mount Scopus campus.
The medical groups also didn’t report that 10 Gaza hospitals were used by Hamas during Operation Cast Lead to shelter weapons and terrorists.
Today Magen David Adom vehicles do not enter the Arab neighborhoods of east Jerusalem without police authorization and military escort. It’s not because of the “apartheid,” but rather, because terrorists tried to hit the doctors. During the Intifada, MDA had to replace the windows of its ambulances in the Jerusalem region with glass that does not shatter if hit by rocks. Read the whole thing.

Palestinian Arab family killed - by NATO. Where are the condemnations?

A Palestinian family of four was killed in a NATO airstrike Monday on the Libyan capital of Tripoli, according to the Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry explained in a statement published Tuesday on the government news agency Wafa, that the International Red Crescent Association had relayed the news. The family, according to Wafa’s report, had lived in the Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus, before moving to Tripoli. Palestinian ambassador to Libya Atif Udah told Ma'an radio the family was in a three-story building targeted by a NATO air attack. He identified the victims as Abdullah Muhammad Ash-Shihab, his wife Karima and his 6-month-old twins Khalid and Jumanah. - Ma'an

UNRWA Honors First Palestinian Female Suicide Bomber for #IWD

Today is International Women's Day. Their website states:

"Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women's craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more." What better way for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency to commemorate International Women's Day, than by having the Al-Amari youth center (a UNRWA youth facility in the West Bank) announce a football tournament for youths to be held later this week, named after the first Palestinian female suicide bomber Wafa Idris.
The Al-Amari youth center's website displays its logo with UNRWA's name in the center. On the home page, just below the logo and bordered in red, is the announcement of the Wafa Idris tournament. (See here in Arabic, here in English)

Palestine Media Watch provides the following details:
Wafa Idris was the first Palestinian female suicide bomber. She blew herself up in Jerusalem, killing one and injuring more than 150 on Jan. 27, 2002. As a volunteer for the Palestinian Red Crescent, she was able to bypass Israeli security and enter Jerusalem in a Palestinian ambulance. Since her bombing, Israel has been forced to delay Palestinian ambulances entering Jerusalem at security check points.
The PA has repeatedly presented Wafa Idris as a hero and role model, naming places and events after her, including a summer camp for youth funded by UNICEF, a Fatah women's military unit, a university students group for Fatah members, a Fatah course, and more. There have been public demonstrations and songs on PA TV to honor her. (PMW)
The slogan for UNRWA is "Peace Starts Here"
I guess it's no surprise that UNRWA's existance has done nothing to further "peace" anywhere on the planet.
As the UN and free-world harp incessantly about the importance of the creation of a "Palestinian State", we should remember the important Palestinian contribution to the advancement of Women's Rights.
