Israel arrests 13 Palestinians on suspicion of being behind a shooting attack on an IDF force in Ramallah on Jan. 20
Kalashnikov used in the attack was given to the terrorists by an officer in the Palestinian intelligence service.
The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and Israel Defense Forces recently arrested 13 Palestinians on suspicion of being behind a shooting attack on an IDF force in Ramallah on Jan. 20, the security service said in a statement Monday.
There were no casualties during the shooting attack at the Am'ari refugee camp in Ramallah, but some damage was caused to a military vehicle.
Among those arrested are some employees of the Red Crescent, the Palestinian Red Cross, in Ramallah, one of whom also served as a goalie in the Palestinian Olympic soccer team.
It was also revealed by the Shin Bet that one of the weapons used in the attack, a Kalashnikov, was given to the terrorists by an officer in the Palestinian intelligence service, which oversees employees of the Red Crescent.
The 13 suspects who were arrested, all residents of the Am'ari refugee camp, revealed in their interrogations that they took part in extensive activities against IDF forces guarding the security fence.
The main suspects linked to the shooting attack at the IDF force in January are:
Salah Bararel, born in 1989, a resident of Am’ari, affiliated with Hamas, employed as a guard at the Red Crescent.
Omar Abu Ravis, born in 1989, a resident of Am’ari, affiliated with Hamas, employed at the Red Crescent in Ramallah, is also the goalie of the Palestinian Olympic soccer team.
Fuad Ousha, born in 1989, a resident of Am’ari; barber shop owner (in custody of Palestinian security forces).
Ahmed Khattab, born in 1989, a resident of Am’ari, worked as a guard at the Red Crescent.
During an interrogation of the suspects, it was revealed that Salah Bararel and Omar Abu Ravis used two Kalashnikov rifles, which Ravis received from his friend Manzar Abbas two months earlier, to carry out the attack.
Fuad Ousha acted as a lookout during the attack.
After the attack, the shooters left the rifles inside a bag in an abandoned house, and allegedly planned to transfer them to a new hiding spot the next day. Eventually, Omar Abu Ravis gave the weapons, in the bag, to Ahmed Khatab, who after Abu Ravis’ arrest transferred them back to Manzar Abbas.
During their questioning, the suspects also revealed that they had planned other shooting attacks against IDF troops stationed at Attara, Geva checkpoint, Atarot checkpoint, even in Maaleh Adumim, Ofra and Nablus.

Just like during the Holocaust... it was the ambulances of the Red Cross that supported the Nazi side.

Giulio Meotti summarizes the extreme bias that the medical NGO's display toward Israel.
A case in point is how the Red Cross allocates personnel and budgets worldwide. For North Africa, the Red Cross has one office in Tunis. For “Israel/Occupied Territories/Autonomous Territories,” the Red Cross has offices in Jenin, Tulkarm, Nablus, Kalkilya, Ramallah, Jericho, Bethlehem, Hebron, Gaza, Khan Yunis, Majdel Shams, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv.
Western newspapers, imbued with the ideological reports of medical NGOs, establish a comparison between the Palestinians and South Africa's blacks, who were critically injured and left to bleed to death if there was no “black” ambulance to rush them to a “black” hospital. Jewish altruism never finds its legitimate space in the global media because it doesn’t fit in with the stereotype propagated by the medical NGOs.

It would be enough to stroll through the corridors of Israeli hospitals to understand how false the “apartheid” charge by medical NGOs is. Large Arab families stand with Israelis in the corridors of the maternity wards where one is born and in the oncology clinics where one dies. Through the private program “Save the heart of a child,” the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon cures congenital cardiologic defects in Arab children from all over the world. About half the children it treats are from the nearby Palestinian areas and there have also been some from Iraq and Iran, both technically at war with Israel.

Medical organizations never blamed the Palestinians for attacks on Israeli hospitals. Hadassah University Medical Center on Jerusalem’s Mount Scopus recently released a report, noting that it suffered 43 attacks by east Jerusalem Arabs in 2011. During the last “Nakba Day” events alone, 11 firebombs were thrown into the Mount Scopus campus.
The medical groups also didn’t report that 10 Gaza hospitals were used by Hamas during Operation Cast Lead to shelter weapons and terrorists.
Today Magen David Adom vehicles do not enter the Arab neighborhoods of east Jerusalem without police authorization and military escort. It’s not because of the “apartheid,” but rather, because terrorists tried to hit the doctors. During the Intifada, MDA had to replace the windows of its ambulances in the Jerusalem region with glass that does not shatter if hit by rocks. Read the whole thing.

Red Cross says has already visited Gaddafi's son in prison

WOW. In 5 years, they haven't visited Gilad Shalit a single time, and yet they've visited Gaddafi's son on the third day after he was captured.
(Reuters) - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said it had visited Saif al-Islam Gaddafi in detention in Libya on Tuesday.
"The ICRC visited Saif al-Islam Gaddafi this afternoon in Zintan. He appeared to be in good health," ICRC spokesman Steven Anderson told Reuters.
He declined to name the detention center in Zintan, in the Western Mountains region, or give further details on the visit to Muammar Gaddafi's son and one-time heir apparent who was captured by Libyan fighters in the southern desert on Saturday.
The visit was in keeping with the ICRC's standard procedures, which include the right to interview detainees in private and make follow-up visits, Anderson said. [Interesting. How come they didn't exercise this right in teh case of Shalit? - ed.]
"The visit was one of many being conducted by ICRC delegates (officials) to people detained in Libya for the purpose of monitoring the conditions in which they are being held and the treatment they receive," he said.

Star of David will Not Bow before the Cross

Grassroots Judea and Samaria groups are fighting Magen David Adom over removal of the Jewish Star from ambulances.
Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services volunteers are going on partial strike to protest the removal of the Star of David from MDA vehicles in Judea and Samaria. The grassroots Samaria Residents' Council accuses MDA of systematically removing the Jewish symbol from vehicles in preparation for an upcoming inspection by the International Red Cross.
The Residents' Councils in Samaria and Binyamin have supplied volunteers with stickers that are placed on the vehicles and which recreate the Star of David insignia as it appeared before its removal. Volunteers have been placing the stickers on vehicles in MDA stations at South Har Hevron, Kiryat Arba, Hevron, Efrat, Binyamin and Shomron.
In addition, Samaria volunteers have decided to stop showing up at the Yarkon Station for volunteer shifts, to stop volunteering for "alert shifts" and to no longer evacuate patients to hospitals in non life-threatening cases.
The Chairman of the Samaria Residents' Council, Benny Katzover, said: "The demand to remove the Star of David is tantamount to removing the flag of the state of Israel. It is unthinkable that we in Samaria will lend a hand to a move, the meaning of which is that the Israeli flag is bowing down before the cross. I call upon all Zionists to rebel in every way against MDA's surrender to the International Red Cross."

Red Cross Did Not Examine Gilad Shalit Before Controversial Egyptian Interview

That Egyptian interview with Gilad Shalit took place before any medics had a chance to check his condition. Investigative journalist Robert Behar (Forbes) blows the lid:
Last week, I sent an email to the interviewer, Shahira Amin, Egypt’s most famous TV journalist – posted afterwards in a news story.
Three days ago, she responded at great length in an email, most of which she subsequently published in an open letter in the Jerusalem Post. In her email to me, Amin defends her decision to conduct the interview with Shalit – in part because she says the interview was conducted “AFTER [her caps] he had been released by Hamas and had a medical checkup by the Red Cross.”
But here’s the problem: Red Cross spokesman Hicham Hassan wrote me today that “ICRC representatives met Mr. Shalit briefly after his transfer to the Egyptian authorities. However, he was not met by an IRC doctor as this has [sic] not been solicited.”
And just what did that mean for the interview?

“This was an illusion of choice,” says Dr. Nancy Zarse of the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, an expert in hostage negotiations for the FBI, federal prisons, and the Chicago Police. “I watched the video of the interview. There was evidence of increased autonomic [nervous system] arousal, a lot of heavy breathing, and there were times that I thought he looked scared. This wasn’t really that you have the option to say no. I haven’t met or spoken with him, but I would understand that an individual like this still feels captive – that an interview like this would become part and parcel of the captivity.”
The Geneva Conventions of 1949 have long been used to protect the human dignity of current and former war prisoners. While those laws apply to governments, and not media organizations, keep in mind that the Shalit interview was conducted for Egyptian state TV – an arm of government. Since 2003, the British Red Cross and the British Government have made efforts to provide an updated interpretation of the requirement to protect prisoners of war or civilian internees against “insults and public curiosity” by TV media. For one thing, the Red Cross notes, publicity can humiliate the person and make his return to his own country more difficult. And many of those interviews are done “under duress.”

Shalit Agreement Shows Moral Failure of International Human Rights Frameworks

(NGO Monitor) JERUSALEM – While welcoming the agreement to release kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit as an important humanitarian act, Professor Gerald M. Steinberg, president of human rights watchdog NGO Monitor, noted that this episode further exposes the moral bankruptcy of international human rights mechanisms.
“Throughout the five years of Shalit’s captivity in Gaza, during which every human rights obligation was blatantly violated, organizations such as the UN Human Rights Council, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network (EMHRN), Gisha, and the International Red Cross demonstrated very little interest,” Steinberg stated. “Similarly, the report of the UN Fact-Finding Commission on the Gaza War, headed by Judge Richard Goldstone, downplayed Shalit’s captivity in blatant violation of international law. This moral stain will never be erased.”
In addition, NGO Monitor noted that the agreement to release hundreds of terrorists, responsible for heinous crimes, and tried and convicted according to due process of law, highlights the continued erosion of international legal principles. Instead of serving their time for these convictions, the murderers have been freed under extreme duress and compulsion, adding to the incentives for similar actions in the future. Organizations dedicated to human rights have an obligation to condemn such immoral extortion.
Gilad Shalit. It was worth it! 1000 terrorists that Israelis humanely have to pay for versus one hostage that the NGO community was ignoring and was abused is completely worth it. further it allows the Israelis to now shoot those they had to care for before. There is no loss here. Had Bibi waited a month there would of been no Egypt as we know it to negotiate with. It is a hard pill to swallow, but think of the outrageous torture Gilad would of endured that Amnesty International and the Red Cross would of ignored. it's another example of how comparing the numbers is irrelevant. If we were to compare numbers there would be no Israel at all. We can only compare numbers when we make the assumption that the enemy captives are treated like Israeli captives. This would be a prime example of denying the correlative.

I don't want any more humane wars. I want war to be cruel and bloody... the way it is supposed to be. There is no incentive to avoid war if we are always going to Nation Build. People like Ron Paul talk about the free market as being natural, but then he fails to realize that the fear of bloodshed and horror is what keeps us from war. If we fight our wars compassionately then we will continue to not try to avoid conflict. Such institutions like the Red Cross and the Geneva convention has made war pragmatic and clean... or at least for the party that has greater chance of attrition. Where was the Red Cross during the Holocaust? Let there be blood! Let there be fatality so that when some angry horde gets beaten they don't come back for more.

Treaty arrangements require that everyone who is calculated as "dead" in the hypothetical thermonuclear war simulated using computers actually dies, without actually damaging any infrastructure. In the end, the computers are destroyed, the war can no longer be calculated in this way, the treaty breaks down, and faced with a real threat, (presumably) peace begins.

'Palestinian' minister accuses Israel of harvesting 'Palestinian' organs again

the Saudi-based Arab News.com reported Sunday that Qaraqi’, “during the national day of Palestinian campaign to retrieve martyrs’ bodies,” accused Israel of harvesting parts from “the bodies of dead Palestinian martyrs without the consent of their families.”
According to the website, Qaraqi’ said Israel was holding on to the remains of “Palestinian martyrs to conceal the crimes it committed against the martyrs’ bodies and to punish their families.” Qaraqi has a history of this sort of thing. Just two weeks ago, he complained bitterly because Israel is not letting 'Palestinians' complete their education
(Carl: why should we when Gilad Shalit cannot even have a Red Cross visit after five years?).
In March, he presented an award to the family of Abbas al-Sayid, who planned the Seder night massacre
(note different spelling of last name, but it's the same person)
and in 2010 he handed out a 'Mother of the Year' award to a woman who has four sons in Israeli jails for murdering Jews. In 2005, he accused Israel's prison authorities of allowing cancer to go untreated in Israeli prisons. He said one quarter of all Palestinians are in prison.

Palestinian Arab family killed - by NATO. Where are the condemnations?

A Palestinian family of four was killed in a NATO airstrike Monday on the Libyan capital of Tripoli, according to the Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry explained in a statement published Tuesday on the government news agency Wafa, that the International Red Crescent Association had relayed the news. The family, according to Wafa’s report, had lived in the Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus, before moving to Tripoli. Palestinian ambassador to Libya Atif Udah told Ma'an radio the family was in a three-story building targeted by a NATO air attack. He identified the victims as Abdullah Muhammad Ash-Shihab, his wife Karima and his 6-month-old twins Khalid and Jumanah. - Ma'an

Red Cross Demands New Sign of Life of Shalit

Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) recently met with Hamas head Khaled Mashaal in Damascus about kidnapped soldier Gilad Schalit, Channel 10 reported on Monday.
The ICRC representatives attempted to persuade Mashaal to send a new sign of life from Schalit before the Passover holiday next week, according to the report. The last sign of life to be released by Hamas came in a video clip in September 2009.
Unlike previous requests, Mashaal did not reject the request and promised to examine the matter.
The ICRC visit was apparently prompted by the persistent pressure exerted on it by the Schalit family in the five years since Gilad's capture, ramped up recently.
Unlike in the past, where the Schalits and activists working for Gilad's release had refrained from criticizing the Red Cross, activists recently made a demand on the humanitarian organization. The activists demanded that the ICRC in Israel stop visiting Hamas prisoners in Israeli prisons until the Schalit family receives a sign of life from Gaza.

In World War II the Red Cross could have possibly been invited to assist in aiding Concentration Camp victims but would have been required to tell no one about the Concentration Camps. Wow. (this is only partially hypothetical because I believe they did work with Nazis in some situations)

UNRWA Honors First Palestinian Female Suicide Bomber for #IWD

Today is International Women's Day. Their website states:
"Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women's craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more." (IWD)
What better way for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency to commemorate International Women's Day, than by having the Al-Amari youth center (a UNRWA youth facility in the West Bank) announce a football tournament for youths to be held later this week, named after the first Palestinian female suicide bomber Wafa Idris.
The Al-Amari youth center's website displays its logo with UNRWA's name in the center. On the home page, just below the logo and bordered in red, is the announcement of the Wafa Idris tournament. (See here in Arabic, here in English)

Palestine Media Watch provides the following details:
Wafa Idris was the first Palestinian female suicide bomber. She blew herself up in Jerusalem, killing one and injuring more than 150 on Jan. 27, 2002. As a volunteer for the Palestinian Red Crescent, she was able to bypass Israeli security and enter Jerusalem in a Palestinian ambulance. Since her bombing, Israel has been forced to delay Palestinian ambulances entering Jerusalem at security check points.
The PA has repeatedly presented Wafa Idris as a hero and role model, naming places and events after her, including a summer camp for youth funded by UNICEF, a Fatah women's military unit, a university students group for Fatah members, a Fatah course, and more. There have been public demonstrations and songs on PA TV to honor her. (PMW)
The slogan for UNRWA is "Peace Starts Here"
I guess it's no surprise that UNRWA's existance has done nothing to further "peace" anywhere on the planet.
As the UN and free-world harp incessantly about the importance of the creation of a "Palestinian State", we should remember the important Palestinian contribution to the advancement of Women's Rights.

The protest against the Red Cross is being organized by David Ish Shalom, a former leftwing protest leader who switched sides following the Oslo terror wave.
Three wanted Hamas leaders have taken refuge in Red Cross offices in Jerusalem – while Hamas prevents RC from visiting Gilad Shalit in Gaza. A rally demanding Israeli action and protesting the Red Cross will be held at Red Cross offices tonight.

Israel is clearly hesitant to arrest them on Red Cross premises, for fear of “how it will look” – and the standoff continues. Hamas took responsibility for last week’s terrorist murders of four Jews near Hevron and for an attempt to kill two more the next night. Israel National News (INN) spoke to stand-in ICRC spokesperson Cecilia Goin, who explained, “We have made it clear that if the police come to arrest them, we do not have extra-territorial status and we will do nothing to stop the police.” Asked, “Why, then, are you letting them live on your premises?” Goin explained that the ICRC considers eastern Jerusalem “occupied territory” and that the three Hamas men "are considered protected persons under international humanitarian law, as stated in Article 4 of the Fourth Geneva Convention." “Interpretation of that article is a matter of dispute," INN noted, “but why is the ICRC not consistent with its interpretation and protecting the Hamas men from what it feels would be an illegal arrest by Israel?” Goin reiterated that the ICRC could not/would not prevent the Israeli police from arresting them. What About Gilad Shalit? Another question hovering in the air was the question of Gilad Shalit. Goin explained that the ICRC has met several times with Hamas regarding Shalit, “and each time we demanded that we be allowed to visit with Gilad Shalit, or at least to pass him the thousands of letters, cards and messages that are stored in our Gaza office for him. But each time, Hamas has refused.” “On the one hand,” INN asked, “Hamas is not letting you visit Shalit, while on the other hand, you host Hamas leaders – not in order to protect them, because you say you will not block their arrest, but giving them a platform for the media, etc. – who are representatives of the very organization holding Shalit and not allowing you to visit him. Is this a case of one ICRC arm not being aware of what the other is doing, or simply a double standard at Israel’s expense?” The spokesperson repeated that Hamas is not allowing ICRC to visit Shalit, despite its attempts, and that the Hamas leaders are receiving humanitarian protection. A protest will be held outside the Jerusalem Red Cross offices at 6 PM this evening (Monday) demanding that both Israel and the ICRC put an end to the situation. David Ish-Shalom, organizer of the protest, says, “Just last week, Hamas took ‘credit’ for murdering four Jews near Hevron – and now, its leaders are guests of the Red Cross, right in the heart of Jerusalem [the Shimon HaTzaddik/Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood]. The Israeli security forces deserve great credit for pursuing terrorists, but isn’t it about time that Hamas leaders – who in this case happen to be only 100 meters from the city’s police headquarters – should be caught as well?” “While Gilad Shalit does not receive any visits from the ICRC or anyone,” Ish-Shalom continues, “the ICRC itself hosts Hamas on its premises. We will protest outside the ICRC for as long as this dangerous, absurd and sick situation continues.” ICRC Doesn't See Hamas as a Terror Org Sam Sokol of the Five Towns Jewish Times originally reported six weeks ago that the ICRC does not categorize Hamas as a terrorist organization. “It is not up to the ICRC… to confer a particular status on people or organizations or to recognize their legitimacy,” a spokesperson said, adding that the Red Cross differentiates between the "militant" and "political" wings of terrorist organizations. Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said that Israel does not accept this distinction, Sokol reported: “Distinguishing between a military branch and a ‘political’ or ‘charitable’ branch of a terror group is like distinguishing between the two hands of a convicted murderer,” Palmor said. this is just a repeat of the Holocaust. the Scandinavian so called impartial neutral workers of the Red Cross did nothing to help the Jewish Concentration Camp victims.

Media reports say the Red Cross is providing sanctuary to three leading Hamas terrorists in East Jerusalem. A group of concerned Israelis are planning to protest the affair Monday evening. They say the government is turning a blind eye to terrorists located only 100 meters away from National Police headquarters.
A later report indicates that the Red Cross is justifying its actions.

Those of you who are long-time readers may recall that this is not the first time that the Red Cross has shielded terrorists in our region.
I wonder who they are. I'd bet on three Hamas legislators who were released from Israeli prisons a couple of months ago.

Juden Hass Arrest: just got told I could not protest in front on the Red Cross.

Cops told me I needed a permit and said I had to have an American flag. I'm like where is yours? Guy said I don't have any problems and I'm Irish... I'm like Irish isn't a Nation or a Religion. they said I wasn't listening... I said I disagree, but I'm listening. They threatened to arrest me.
