Police: Indict Feiglin Over Temple Mount Bowing

Labels: » » »
(israelnationalnews.com) The Jerusalem District police intends to recommend that Likud Beytenu candidate Moshe Feiglin be prosecuted over his visit to the Temple Mount and that it be done even before the elections, Channel 10 News reported on Tuesday.
Moshe FeiglinFeiglin, head of the Likud's Jewish Leadership faction, was detained by police on Tuesday morning after bowing down during a visit to the Temple Mount. This is not the first time that Feiglin has been arrested for worshiping on the Mount.
The Temple Mount is the holiest site in the world according to Judaism. It is also home to the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Police allow Jews to visit the site, but they are forbidden to pray in the area or show other outward signs of worship due to fears that Jewish prayer would inflame Muslim anger.
According to Channel 10, the police decided to recommend that Feiglin be prosecuted for offenses of obstructing the work of a police officer, violating a legal order and misconduct in a public place.
The report noted that the police are aware that Feiglin is a realistic candidate for the Knesset on behalf of the Likud Beytenu and therefore want to try him before January 22's election.
Feiglin was released from police custody despite having refused to sign a pledge to refrain from prayer on the Temple Mount for a set period of time.
He was previously arrested during the Sukkot holiday for allegedly praying on the Temple Mount – a charge he denied. Then, too, police insisted that he agree to restrictive conditions prior to release, but he refused to sign.
A court ordered his release later in the day, and he walked free immediately.

Video: Wakf destroys more priceless Temple Mount artifacts

Labels: » » »
(Carl)We've seen this before. The 'Palestinian' Wakf is bulldozing the Temple Mount again destroying thousands of priceless artifacts.
The story is told in Hebrew here. In 2004, Israel's Supreme Court ruled that excavations cannot be carried out on the Temple Mount without archeological supervision. While there is apparently some dispute as to whether a permit was obtained, what is clear is that there was no supervision other than the person in the video who sought to stop the work. The Antiquities Authority was not allowed to go through the material before it was dumped.
More here and here.

Bodies of massacred Jews found on Temple Mount?

Labels:
The bodies of Jews who were massacred by the Romans during the destruction of the Second Temple some 1940 years ago may have been found on the Temple Mount.
According to daily newspaper Israel HaYom, [archaeological journalist Benny] Liss screened a video clearly showing thousands of human skeletons in what appears to be a mass grave.
Liss "told the amazed audience that the film had been shot in a spacious, underground cavern in the area of the Mercy Gate [Sha'ar Harachamim in Hebrew, a sealed gate in the wall of the Old City, opposite the Mount of Olives, ed.], near the eastern wall of the Temple Mount, but just outside it," the newspaper reported. Liss raised the possibility that the skeletons were the remains of 6,000 Jews, mostly women and children, killed on the Temple Mount when the Romans destroyed the Second Temple.
The massacre is described in the writings of Josephus Flavius, who defected from the Jewish to the Roman side and witnessed the destruction.
The movie shows Liss entering the cave, followed by a lighting technician and cameraman. The three first pass through a narrow passage and then enter the cave with the skeletal remains. As soon as Liss left the cave, Antiquities Authority (IAA) staff resealed the entrance to it, he said.
"The Romans stayed on the Temple Mount for a month after the destruction of the Temple until going on to conquer the upper city [today's Jewish Quarter],” says Liss. “They had to get rid of the thousands of decomposing bodies and the most obvious place to do this would have been the natural caves on the upper slope of the mount, around Mercy Gate."
Hmmm. By the way, because the IAA resealed the cave entrance, the official line is that 'no one can determine' whether the bodies are Jewish or Muslim.
horrid... horrid... even if it was 1940 years ago... sickening

So, The Quran Relates Temple Tales

Labels: »

(Word) Excerpts from a paper, The Temple in the Qurʾān, presented by William J. Hamblin, Professor of History, Brigham Young University today

Taken together, all of the elements mentioned in this passage [Sūrah 34:12b-13a] --Solomon as builder of a place of worship, the massive use of bronze, the jinn as workers, the images, and water basins -- make it certain that this passage is describing the building of Solomon’s Temple, viewing its construction as having been ordered by God and facilitated by divine intervention.

In these Qurʾānic narratives about Mary, the temple appears in Qurʿān 3:35-37, describing the birth of Mary and her dedication as a youth to serve in the temple, where she is miraculously fed by God.

  •  The Qurʾān also includes a rather detailed description of the destructions of the Jerusalem temple by the Babylonians and the Romans in 17:4-8.

and

The Qurʾān views the temple of Jerusalem through three different lenses.  First, the Qurʾānic temple was an Israelite holy place intimately tied to the lives of the ancient prophets.  Solomon built it by divine decree and with miraculous assistance.  It was commemorated as a place of repentance and miracles.   Second, it was a Christian holy place, where God fed Mary miraculous food, and angels spoke to Zachariah.  Finally, it was a contemporary Muslim sacred place, directly linked to the spiritual life of the Muslims, where Muhammad ascended to heaven in vision.  But, despite its holiness, it was destroyed because of the apostasy of the Jews.  For the Qurʾān, the Jerusalem temple is thus a sign of God’s miraculous power, and a warning, that sacredness does not derive from a place alone, but from submission (ʾislām) to the will of God.

Koran PROVES Jerusalem is Jewish? But Jerusalem isn't even mentioned!

Labels: » » » » » » » » » » » » » » »

http://unitedwithisrael.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/ancient-jerusalem.jpgGet ready to be confused... Islam is aware of a Jewish city that the Jews pray to, but Mohammad never names it...
(EOZ)( A Muslim scholar explains why Jerusalem is not in the Koran) It is strange, mysterious, and enigmatic, … that the name of the city ‘Jerusalem’ (Arabic ‘Quds’ or ‘Bait al-Maqdis’) does not appear in the Qur’an! Yet so many of the Prophets mentioned in the Qur’an had links with that Holy City, and in it is located that only other House of Allah, apart from those built in Makkah and Madina, ever built by a Prophet of Allah, Most High. Not only is that House of Allah (Masjid al-Aqsa) mentioned in the Qur’an but so, also, is the miraculous night-time journey in which Prophet Muhammad (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) was taken from Makkah to Jerusalem and to that House of Allah. Perhaps the reason for this mysterious treatment of the subject is located in the Islamic view that Jerusalem is destined to play a central crucial role in the Last Age. Hence there was, perhaps, a divine need to cloud the name of the city, as well as its destiny, with a sacred cloud that would not be lifted until the appropriate time had come, and Jerusalem was poised and ready to play its role in the End of History.
There you go! The Quran doesn't mention Jerusalem because it is too darn holy!
(Yid With Lid)(Koran, Sura 2:145, "The Cow") "...They would not follow thy direction of prayer (qiblah), nor art thou to follow their direction of prayer; nor indeed will they follow each other's direction of prayer..."
Commentators explain that "thy qiblah" (direction of prayer for Muslims) clearly refers the Ka'bah of Mecca, while "their qiblah" (direction of prayer for Jews) refers to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

This Koranic passage appears to show that the holiness of Jerusalem a Jewish concept, and should not be confused with an Islamic concept.
The 13th-century Arab biographer and geographer Yakut noted: "Mecca is holy to Muslims, and Jerusalem to the Jews."
(Read further for an overview of early Anti-Semitism from Egyptian, Greek and Roman sources. These ancient hate sources make mention of Jews and Jerusalem before Mohammad. They might not like the Jews, but they know where they come from)
Islam understands that Jerusalem is the central location of Israel even if it doesn't name it, and the Temple Mount is the epicenter of Jerusalem. This is why the Muslm Waqf and Abu Mazen AKA Abbas is destroying it. They do not want it... they want to destroy another faith. Obviously the Quran still believes in a Jewish Holy City... it just doesn't clarify it's place or name. Mohammad never conquers Jerusalem... but he flies there on a flying unicorn before his death (even though no Christian has a record of this). The whole thing is silly. They claim ownership of land that isn't clarified.. essentially claiming anywhere they want to be Muslim... which I guess is the idea. sigh...when it gets this complicated it is because it is simple.

Israel Netanyahu allowing the Temple Mount to be destroyed

Labels:

Four and a half years ago, (Carl) warned that Israel was complicit in the destruction of all evidence of Jewish life on the Temple Mount. This weekend, YNet updated the story.
According to specific Antiquities Authority instructions, any digging at the site was not allowed to exceed 60 centimeters (roughly two feet) and was not to be undertaken using mechanical equipment. However, reports drafted by Pasternnack and other sources, exposed for the first time by Yedioth Ahronoth Friday, indicate that workers largely ignored the instructions.
Much of the work was done using a tractor, continued during the night with the help of a flashlight, reached deeper than the permit allowed for. Moreover, the clods of earth removed from the site, which apparently comprised valuable remnants from the two Jewish Temples, were thrown away to an improvised garbage dump by members of the Waqf (the administrative Muslim body in charge of Temple Mount.)
Archeology expert Dr. Gabai Barkai, a world-renowned expert on Temple era excavations, was shocked by the reported work: "How could one dig up such sensitive area at night? How could one dig using mechanical equipment? Every such move is a crime. This is first-rate barbarity."
Where was YNet four and a half years ago when (Carl) reported that? (Carl) posted pictures (including the one above) of the destruction of the Temple Mount, including the tractor here. (Carl) reported that the destruction of the Temple Mount was carried out with the approval of then-Prime Minister Ehud K. Olmert. (Carl) even posted a video of the destruction here, which (Carl) is re-posting below.
Let's go to the videotape.
And I wasn't the only one who knew about it. Then Congressman (and now House Majority Leader) Eric Cantor (R-Va) knew enough to protest about it.A Druze policeman (no - the Jewish ones went along with it!) tried to no avail to stop the destruction.
Oh - but wait. YNet's story is about why the Israeli government is trying to cover up the destruction of the Temple Mount. So I'll blog that story below, and leave it to future investigation why Israel's mainstream media has been complicit in that coverup until now.
An investigative report by Yedioth Ahronoth revealed the ongoing failure of various Israeli authorities in safeguarding the rare archeological treasures found on Temple Mount. Information elicited by the newspaper showed that the Waqf is consistently erasing any trace of Jewish history at the site.
Mideastern affairs expert Dr. Mordechai Kedar says these acts are undertaken in the framework of an Arab practice known as "erasing the signs," aimed at eliminating the remnants of any civilization that preceded Islam.
Members of the State Comptroller's Office launched an investigation into the affair four years ago and drafted a report about it. However, the Knesset's State Control Committee decided to impose a gag order on the report for "security reasons."
However, Israeli intelligence officials told Yedioth Ahronoth there is no reason to prevent the report's publication. A senior Shin Bet Security Service official said following the Committee's session on the matter: "I'm ashamed. This is akin to cheapening national security to the lowest point possible."
Former Mossad Chief Meir Dagan has also questioned the gag order. "There is no connection whatsoever between the failure to publish the report and national security. As far as I know, both Mossad and Shin Bet said there is no reason not to publish the report…apparently there are other considerations here, pertaining to political motives."
Conversations and interviews held with dozens of officials involved in drafting the State Comptroller's secret report indicate that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is among the senior officials interested in shelving the document. Attorney Yisrael Caspi, who represents a group fighting the destruction on Temple Mount, says the PM is unequivocally responsible for the ongoing failure.
For those of you who don't speak Israelspeak, allow me to enlighten you. What they're saying is that if they disclosed the truth - that there is ongoing destruction on the Temple Mount - it would prove conclusively that the Muslims (and it's not just the 'Palestinians' here because the Wakf acts in the name of the Arab and Muslim governments) are not even willing to acknowledge a Jewish (and Christian) presence on the Temple Mount and therefore there is no chance - as in "none" "zero" - that they will ever make peace with the existence of a Jewish state on any part of the land of Israel. That's the truth. And if Netanyahu (who didn't start the policy - as noted above - but continued it) were to acknowledge that, what would he say to President Hussein Obama in Washington next week?
But make no mistake about it: Netanyahu is continuing his predecessor's policy on the Temple Mount:
"One cannot underestimate the prime minister's responsibility for the state of affairs on Temple Mount; one can only refer to it as absolute responsibility," he said. "We know with certainty that nothing happens on Temple Mount without the advance knowledge and permission of the Prime Minister's Office and its head. All the criticism, all the negligence, all the failures, the entire cover-up and the helplessness in dealing with the matter - and therefore all the historical responsibility - are his."
Caspi says Netanyahu does not want to be reminded of the "historical scandal" of handing over the holy site known in Judaism as Solomon's Stables to the Waqf during the PM's first term in office, in the 1990s. "This turned Solomon's Stables, an amazing archeological site…into a place that Jews are not allowed to enter and into the largest mosque in the State of Israel," he says.
"These days too, three tractors are being used on Temple Mount," Caspi says. "Construction materials are also continuing to be brought into Temple Mount in violation of police pledges…Temple Mount looks today like a construction materials' warehouse…materials being brought in today will be used for illegal works tomorrow."
Netanyahu is shirking the blame.
The Prime Minister's Office issued the following response to the story: "As opposed to the claims, the body that imposed a gag order on the (State Comptroller's) report was not the government, but rather, the sub-committee of the Knesset's Defense and Foreign Affair's Committee…any argument alleging that the report is not being published as result of irrelevant reasons is baseless and disconnected from reality."
Who is the sub-committee? Who is on it? From whom does it take orders? Who is its chairman? Who are its members? Since when can the Prime Minister's office be prevented from publishing something by a 'sub-committee' of the Knesset?
And the Wakf is denying that they're doing anything wrong.
The Waqf issued the following response: "The Waqf's management was sorry to hear the claims made in the story pertaining to the Waqf's policy on Temple Mount. In the Waqf management's view, all these claims are baseless and constitute false charges. Our official policy is to preserve and respect any human heritage. You are invited to visit the mosque and see for yourself well preserved Roman, Byzantine and Crusader artifacts, among other items."
But not Jewish ones of course. In the Wakf's world, those never existed.
Read the whole thing. I hope that this won't be the last time the mainstream media discusses this issue.

Stoning Infidels From the Temple Mount

(Sheik Yer Mami) Islamic Terrorists Caught Hurling Stones at Christian Tourists Near Temple Mount. Over a dozen Islamic worshipers terrorists were arrested Sunday after they hurled stones at Christian tourists near the Temple Mount in Jerusalem:
According to a police spokesperson, three officers were injured in the ensuing kerfuffle. The Jerusalem Post reports the disturbance started after rumors spread about “right-wing Jews” trying to reclaim area mosques and build a third Jewish temple:
Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben Ruby said the protesters were reacting to reports that a group of right-wing Jews bent on destroying the mosques and building the Third Temple on the site planned to ascend to the Temple Mount en masse, similar to rumors of an attempt led by former Likud primary candidate Moshe Feiglin last Sunday.
[...]
Palestinian sources claimed over the weekend that a group of Jews would attempt to storm the Temple Mount in order to “strengthen Israeli sovereignty over the site,” according to the Jordanian newspaper.
Police said no Jews were at the Temple Mount during the altercation. The site remained opened to tourists throughout the day.
Three suspects were arrested on the scene while 10 others were arrested after exiting the al Aksa mosque, the Post reports.

Egypt's Mufti threatens Israel

(EOZ) The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Ali Gomaa, who is considered a moderate cleric, said on Saturday that "the grave violations against holy sites" in Jerusalem requires urgent international Islamic intervention.
He said that Israel's temporary closing of the ramp to the Mughrabi Gate on the Temple Mount - which Muslims do not use - was the latest violation against the sanctity of Jerusalem.
Presumably these "grave violations" also include the fact that Jews are allowed, with severe restrictions, to visit their own holiest site.
Gomaa further warned that if Israel would continue to ignore their feelings, it would feel the wrath of one and a half billion angry Muslims.
throw the Waqf out. Even sensitivity doesn't appease them. It isn't a holy site for them. It isn't mentioned by Mohammad... it is merely a matter of spoiling the faith of others. The rotting wooden Mughrabi bridge and gate is dangerous and needs to be closed before it kills people.

Second Temple seal found in Jerusalem

Carl: Here's another one of those discoveries that makes the Arabs seethe because it proves once again that there was Jewish life in Israel more than 2000 years ago. Archaeologists sifting through dirt that the Waqf plowed over during the course of construction on the Temple Mount have discovered a receipt from the Second Temple period.
The Antiquities Authority announced Sunday the discovery of the original store credit - an ancient seal that was used to show payments for offerings.
A 1cm by 1cm ancient seal was found with the words "Pure for God" written in Aramaic, the Antiquities Authority said.
It is the first time anything has been discovered dealing with The Second Temple administration and helps put a human spin on the day to day activities of the period.
It was discovered in Jerusalem by volunteers sifting through the dirt excavated from the north side of the Shiloah Pools in the City of David.
Due to the richness of the archaeological history, every bucket of dirt is sifted before being thrown out. About 30 coins have been found this way.
Carl: My daughter found a coin when we went to help them sift dirt during the Sukkot holiday four years ago.

It's official: Mughrabi Bridge is closed

Labels: » » »
(Carl) Jerusalem's city engineer has ordered the closure of the wooden walkway above the Western Wall Plaza due to safety issues.
The closure, which came earlier than expected, touched off a stormy reaction in the Knesset and among right-wing activists.
“Israel doesn’t know how to express its own independence in its own capital,” said Yehudah Glick, the founder and chairman of the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation, which advocates for Jewish access to the site. He said that in the past, when construction caused the closure of the Mugrabi Gate, non-Muslim tourists and pilgrims were allowed to use the Chain Gate, one of the 12 entrances to the Temple Mount. Similar access was not granted on Sunday.
MK Uri Ariel (National Union) called for the immediate demolition of the bridge so construction of a safer alternative could begin.
“But even with this, it would be inconceivable if during construction Jews are hindered from going to the Temple Mount for even one minute, and the construction work should never be an excuse for this,” he said.
Glick and Ariel both called for the prime minister to work to find alternate routes for Jewish worshipers and tourists while the bridge’s fate is decided.
oh no... the Jews are building something!

Palestinian Authority TV: Rain cleanses Jerusalem of Jews' impurity so Muslims can pray

Four big Israeli mistakes

IDF Chief Rabbi Shlomo Goren
(center),with General Uzi Narkiss
(left) at the Western Wall, June 7, 1967
(Fresno Zionism h/t Love of the Land) On June 7th, 1967, Israeli Paratroopers liberated the Temple Mount. Although some religious leaders (including, initially, Rabbi Shlomo Goren) favored destroying the Dome of the Rock and building a Third Temple, this idea was never seriously considered. But short of that, what was to be done? There was a debate among the rabbis about how to deal with the prohibition against entering the Holy of Holies. Some proposed simply banning Jews from the entire area. But Rav Goren felt that Jews should be allowed to pray on at least specified parts of it, because otherwise Israel would lose its sovereignty there.
In a confidential memorandum to the Ministerial Committee for Holy Places which he sent shortly after military hostilities had ceased, Goren proposed that
the prime minister should declare that the holy places of the Jews be placed under rabbinic supervision. All the Temple Mount is holy to the Jews and therefore it is in the jurisdiction of the Chief Rabbinate even though mosques were built there. Since it is forbidden for Jews and non-Jews alike to enter the Temple Mount the Chief Rabbinate should request the army to close the Temple Mount for everybody. This step should be taken immediately [Goren's emphasis] before the military curfew is lifted and before free access is given. Now the Arabs are in a state of shock, and their only hope is to stay alive and not be massacred. Now is the moment to set the conditions and basis for the status quo proposed. Through such a step, the exclusive Muslim rule on the Mount will be circumvented. Later it will not be possible to do anything. If this proposal comes from the rabbinate rather than the government it will be seen as a religious matter of holiness rather than a political idea. And since entry will be forbidden for Jews, the Arabs cannot claim discrimination.
Such a ban, which could have lasted years, would have given the Chief Rabbinate time to study the problem including clarifying which areas are permitted to enter and which are not. Goren added that “if the Arabs are suspicious it is possible to give them El Aqsa.”
But Defense Minister Moshe Dayan and Chief of Staff Yitzhak Rabin overruled him. The Temple Mount was placed under the control of the Jordanian waqf and the Western Wall was left for Jewish prayer. Later, Rabbi Goren tried to change the status quo, but many rabbis opposed him as did most of the political echelon. The Temple Mount in effect remained under Muslim control despite theoretical Jewish sovereignty in Jerusalem.
Since then, the waqf has excavated and built illegally, destroying archaeological evidence of a historical Jewish temple, and Israel has done nothing. Jews are permitted to go up to the Mount, but may not pray there — a Jew was arrested (by Israeli police) for trying to wave a lulav (a device woven from the ‘four species’ in observance of Sukkot) this week, and Jews have been reported by waqf officials for moving their lips.

Any Jewish activity in the area is cause for Arab riots. There is constant incitement of the Muslim population in mosques and by the Islamic Movement of Raed Saleh. ‘Peace’ proposals made to the Palestinians have included sovereignty over the Temple Mount — why not, since Israel has long since surrendered it.
Jewish soldiers died to take back all of Jerusalem, not just part of it. Rabbi Goren was right, Dayan and Rabin wrong. Mistake no. 1.

Islamization

Labels: » » » » » » » » »
“Since the creation of the world there has been only one religion and that is the religion of Islam. So if anybody says, for example, that there is a place connected with Solomon and that’s the place where Solomon’s Temple stood, a true Muslim would tell you: ‘Yes, you’re absolutely right, but don’t forget that Solomon was a Muslim.’”
Mohammed died in 632 AD. At the time, Jerusalem was a Christian city. It was captured by Khalif Omar six years after Mohammed’s death. Prior to the capture, the Church of Saint Mary of Justinian stood on the Temple Mount. There was no mosque in the entire city. The Dome of the Rock was built in 691. Twenty years later, the Church of Saint Mary was converted into a mosque with the familiar dome on top. It was named Al Aqsa, so it would sound like the “furthest mosque” mentioned in the Koran. That’s the basis of the Islamic claim to Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.

If the Arabs really want to make something up... they might get better results in the later verses which says somethings that are quite dark, but said in the identity of a higher power who kills children and doesn't think highly of the Babylonian feminists. As part of the continuing Palestinian denial of Jewish history in Jerusalem, a Palestinian researcher and specialist on Jerusalem has claimed that the well-known verse of the Hebrew psalm, "If I forget thee, oh Jerusalem" is not a Jewish source at all. He said that the words were uttered by a Christian Crusader, and have only recently been "borrowed" by Jews and "falsified in the name of Zionism."
...not sure why Jews would make up something completely politically incorrect.

Happy Reunified Jerusalem Day

Today (28 of Iyar), as you know is Jerusalem Day (44). The day, that after much blood and battle, we managed to reclaim and reunite the City of Jerusalem after 19 years of Jordanian rule during which Jews were expelled from Arab-occupied Jerusalem, and Jewish religious sites were desecrated and destroyed.
It has been 44 years since we liberated the occupied half of Jerusalem and turned Jerusalem into a city with freedom of worship for all.
Happy Jerusalem Day.
The Jewish people have lost possession of the the Temple Mount three times since King David purchased the site 30 centuries ago. Only once, was the site given away voluntarily, when Moshe Dayan gave it away 44 years ago. Moshe Dayan will go down in history not as a hero, but as the man who gave away the Temple Mount, providing Barack Obama and the Muslims the opportunity to make Jerusalem an Issue:

.........."It's true," Eldad said, "that the original sin was when the Jewish People, immediately after the Six Day War in 1967, ceded its hold on the Temple Mount in an unholy alliance between the Chief Rabbinate and Moshe Dayan - each side for its own reasons - but now the danger is that the Arab sovereignty on the Temple Mount will spill over to the Western Wall plaza, and from there to other places."

Then-Defense Minister Dayan, just days after Israel's liberation of the Old City, informed the Muslims running the Temple Mount that they could continue to run the mosques there - and later went further by preventing Jewish prayer all over the Mount.

"It was evident that if we did not prevent Jews from praying in what was now a mosque compound," Dayan later wrote, "matters would get out of hand and lead to a religious clash... As an added precaution, I told the chief of staff to order the chief army chaplain to remove the branch office he had established in the building which adjoins the mosque compound."Source Israel National News

Moshe Dayan Gave the Keys Of Temple Mount To The Waqf, Will A Goat Get Them Back?

Labels: » » » » » » »
In 1967, shortly after the Six Day War, Moshe Dayan ordered the Israeli flag removed from Temple Mount, and handed over administrative control, effectively he gave over the keys, of Temple Mount, to the Waqf.
The poor, innocent goat
Last year, in 2010, before Pesach, Yehuda Glick, of The Temple Institute, went to the Old City of Jerusalem with a goat in tow. He says his purpose was completely educational, as he was planning a demonstration of the korban pesach ceremony. As he was near the Temple Mount, the police got nervous, suspecting him of nefarious intentions that might possibly lead to a riot by the Arabs on Temple Mount, arrested Glick and the goat, and confiscated the goat transferring it to officials form the Ministry of Agriculture.
Glick decided to sue the police, the City of Jerusalem, and the Ministry of Agriculture, for $25,000 for wrongful arrest, as he had no such plans of inciting riots.
if that is not funny enough, the report on the case is even funnier.
The court asked the police representative about Glick's activities and why they were concerned he might do something provocative. They then asked the rep about the goat. They asked if they had gotten a court order to confiscate the goat, or a restraining order against the goat from being in the area, to which the police rep admitted they had not.
The court then asked if they tried to prevent the goat from going up to the Temple Mount complex, to which the rep replied that the goat had not come alone.
The court then asked why they bothered arresting Glick once they had removed the goat. The response to this was that they arrested Glick with the goat for the purpose of investigating the act he planned to commit.
According to Mynet, the court criticized the police for their behavior in the Old City, and for their preventing Glick's activities on har Habayit. The court asked the police representative why they prevent Glick's legitimate activities just because they think it could be interpreted as provocative. the police response was that their goal is simply to prevent riots and bloodshed.
The court closed off ordering the police to submit detailed information regarding similar slaughtering ceremonies that have happened in recent years in the vicinity of Har HaBayit.
The modern day liberator of Jerusalem
I don't know how many Jews are slaughtering anything nowadays in the vicinity of Har Habayit, so they probably won't have much data to bring to the courts to show that slaughtering the goat would have necessarily led to Arab violence. And they probably have more data on Arabs slaughtering in the vicinity, and it not leading to violence and bloodshed. This might work in Glick's favor.
This sounds like it could have been a case perfect for court tv. It does not get any funnier than this.
And to close on a more serious note, will a goat bring about the liberation of Har HaBayit?

Thanks! It was great even though the Muslim guards forbid us from saying even a blessing. My nephew likes to push the envelope: - TwitVid

Why does Israel continue to allow the Muslims to control our temple? They say they are going to kill us and Mohammad never built a mosque in Israel during his lifetime so the furthest mosque could of never been in Israel... there was a church on the temple mount when Mohammad was alive. It's name was St Justinian. Should Hamas or Fatah strike one more time then Israel should take back our property. What the Muslims are doing is abusive and wrong.
