Time Warner opposes sale of Current to Al Jazeera

Labels: » » » » »

(Al Gore Sold News Network to Al Jazeera for $500 Million Because of Shared Ideology and to Avoid Higher Taxes) Getting this transaction done was very difficult. One of Current’s distributors, Time Warner Cable, did not consent to the sale to Al Jazeera. Consequently, Current will no longer be carried on TWC.
Thank goodness for Time Warner. Who expected them to do the right thing? We should work to campaign and put pressure on other cable distributors to dump Al Jazeera America/Current TV as well. (MORE)
don't put too much faith in Time Warner. A left wing package like Al Jazeera could sincerely eat away at CNN's profits.
Arab Spring coverage at Al Jazeera was “thorough” because Al Jazeera is the propaganda arm of Qatar, which spent a lot of money to create the Arab Spring, and is now profiting by selling gas to Egypt, a country that formerly exported gas.
Time Warner doesn't have any gas to sell, but depends on government contracts for rights to lay their wires in the street. Time Warner's left wing is not Al Jazeera's left wing. Hoping for big government is very different then creating markets for Qatar's natural gas.
(Commentary)(EYE) The Wall Street Journal reports that Glenn Beck–who approached Current TV about a sale last year–was too right-wing for the network to even consider his offer. But an authoritarian-Islamist government that has criminalized homosexuality, discriminates against non-Muslims, prosecutes journalists, and has a “Not Free” rating from Freedom House? That was fine:
Before Al-Jazeera, there was Glenn Beck.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Glenn Beck’s media company, The Blaze, approached Current Media about a sale last year, but was told in the words of one source that “the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view.”
The Blaze “reached out to them to buy it,” a source familiar with the talks told POLITICO. “They would have replaced Current programming with The Blaze programming, but were told on initial calls that [Current] wouldn’t sell to someone they weren’t ideologically in line with.”
In explaining the reasons for selling to Al-Jazeera, Current co-founder and CEO Joel Hyatt told the Journal that the Qatari-based broadcaster “was founded with the same goals we had for Current,” including “to give voice to those whose voices are not typically heard” and “to speak truth to power.”
Sure, Al Jazeera can “speak truth to power,” as long as the powerful are not in Qatar. Whatever your feelings about Glenn Beck, he doesn’t advocate government censorship of the Internet or crackdowns on dissidents for “insulting” the nation’s leadership. He also isn’t funded primarily by the oil and gas industry, which Al Gore has spent his post-government career criticizing. So the fact that Qatari-owned Al Jazeera is supposedly more ideologically compatible with Current TV than Glenn Beck gives you an idea of how far off the left is from any genuine position of liberalism.
But Al Jazeera’s Qatari funding also raises other questions for Current TV. While foreign, authoritarian government-funded networks aren’t required to register under the Foreign Agent Registration Act, they often act as propaganda arms for their respective regimes (a prime example being the Kremlin-funded Russia Today, which now goes by the inconspicuous moniker RT). Al Jazeera is no exception, pushing an editorial line that supports the ruling emir’s interests, along with a clear anti-Western and anti-Israel slant. This isn’t something that will play well with advertisers or cable providers–Time Warner Cable dropped Current TV almost immediately after the sale was announced. If outside pressure mounts, others could follow suit. After all, it’s not as if Current TV had strong ratings to begin with.

What do Glenn Beck and Obama Have in Common?

I'm not David Appletree of the JIDF. I actually really liked Glenn Beck's show. You can ask David... this was a big difference for us. This isn't all black and white. He's a very talented guy and he presents information in an entertaining fashion, but I realize Beck's limitations.
What do Glenn Beck and Obama Have in Common?

How about trying to connect with the message of Jews to humankind 'through you will all the families of the earth be blessed'".
From Dovid Efune, Dir. Algemeiner Journal
(
Israel National News via Israel Jews Judaism)

Nothing, you say? Not quite.
In the way by which they address Jews, they both seem to define Jewish identity through the lens of victim-hood.
I have been present on three occasions in the last twelve months where Beck was addressing a Jewish audience and each time I came away with the same impression; Beck views himself as some sort of guardian and 'savior' of the Jewish people.
I noted in a previous column that in a letter on Beck's website posted last summer, that introduced his 'Rumors of War' documentary, he explained his support for Israel, opening with the words "never forget,"referring to the Holocaust. He then continued, "As the world spirals into financial chaos and conditions continue to worsen, fingers are   already being pointed to determine a scapegoat. The nation dubbed   'Little Satan' is one obvious candidate to be on the receiving end of   the blame."
President   Obama's interactions with the Jewish community have of course been   broader and more multidimensional, but following his visit last Monday   to the Holocaust Museum in Washington D. C., I couldn't help but notice a   trend. Politics aside, when he addresses the Jewish community, it is   through the lens of the Holocaust, and the Jewish icon that he has most   publicly attached himself to - outside of a political setting - is Elie   Wiesel.
Throughout   his Presidency, Obama has presided over about ten public addresses to   the U.S. Jewish community and some additional off the record meetings   with communal leaders. Of those that were public, the two Jewish   American Heritage Month events, two Rosh Hashanah phone calls with   American Rabbis and various video messages for Jewish holidays were   relatively insubstantive.
The   speeches that were of most significance included the following: Two   that were delivered before an AIPAC audience that focused on   international politics specifically addressing Israel's challenges with   Iran and other belligerent neighbors. These speeches were essentially   addressed to the entire pro-Israel community in the United States as   well.
The   President also spoke before the Union of Reform Judaism focusing on   domestic politics and policies in working to energize his shrinking   American Jewish liberal base.
The   two remaining times that his message was directed towards the Jewish   people exclusive of specific political motive were almost entirely   Holocaust-centric.
The   first was in 2009 on Obama's journey back from addressing the Arab   world in Cairo, where he referenced Jewish suffering as the root of   "aspiration for a Jewish homeland," he stopped in Buchenwald. His speech   there, amounting to an extended tribute to Jewish victimhood,   transitioned to reference Israel by saying, "They could not have known   how the nation of Israel would rise out of the destruction of the   Holocaust." The world's most famous survivor Elie Wiesel was by his   side.
Monday's   message followed the same pattern. Much was said of the sorry history   of Jewish suffering and the need to prevent further atrocities against   other minorities. There Again, Wiesel accompanied him.
In   no way do I wish to diminish the importance of this recognition and   remembrance, but I know that not so far below the surface, America's   Jews would like to see the President connect to another dimension of the   Jewish message to mankind as well.
On   the very same day that Obama visited Buchenwald,  The Algemeiner  published an interview with Britain's Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, where   he said, "If you tell a young generation of Jewish teenagers, we want   you to know about Jewish history come to Auschwitz, Bergen Belsen and   Treblinka and you'll know what it is to be a Jew, then they will have 2   or 10 thoughts before marrying another Jew and having Jewish children.   Who wants to confer the status of victim-hood onto their children and   grandchildren?"
He   continued, "We have failed to connect with the positives and we have   failed to connect with the message of Jews to humankind 'through you   will all the families of the earth be blessed'".
The   next time a President of the United States addresses the Jewish people,   I have one request; let him stand beside a figure that represents the   Jewish future, and pick a venue that highlights the gifts that our   people have bestowed upon the nations of the world, a prestigious Jewish   house of worship or of study, a museum documenting our illustrious   history, or better yet, the Knesset.

Glenn Beck supports Ron Paul. @JIDF was Correct. #JIDF

Labels: » »
Some of us knew this was all power based political maneuvering the whole time. Some Jewish bloggers fell for this.
(Carl) Listen to this all the way through to the end. Glenn Beck is supporting Ron Paul, even though he admits that Paul is horrible for Israel. Let's go to the videotape (Hat Tip: Sunlight).
Why doesn't Paul talk about who is actually running the FED? because it is Bollinger... and Ron Paul is oversight. both Beck and Paul are trying to obscure things for their supporters so that they can push the Rothschild conspiracy charge. Bollinger is head of the FED... and Ron Paul is oversight.... why doesn't Beck talk about that? point is that he would vote for Paul. that is all you need to know (REDRAW) Carl... the @JIDF and I were trying to tell you this all year. There is no doubt the context of his tirade about a curse within mention of George Soros. You wanted to hear what you wanted to hear. Much of the conservative blogosphere turned on the Jewish Internet Defense Force. This is what David knew the whole time. Some of us saw this coming. Now your next concern should be Romney who has no intentions to release Pollard. If Ron Paul or Romney are nominated we will be pulling for a third party. It was suspect when Romney began asking where the Jewish vote was merely because his supposed conditional and less then proportional support of Israel. Same for Ron Paul. Do not fail to mention that all replacement Christianity is not to be trusted. I hope many of the Israelis who thought American Jews were not supportive and humiliated us for three years will see now that we were always supportive to Israel... and no... the JIDF and I did not support Obama either, but we will be listening careful now. Vengence Against Jews is original LIBEL. Glenn Beck: "I'm not against a Palestinian state."Good Riddance To Glenn Beck

Mel Gibson does a Glenn Beck

Labels: » »

'Mel Gibson called me an oven-dodger', claims Winona Ryder....

....When you slander Jews and your fans start hating you... No, you are not redeemed by becoming a phony Jew lover. Your sin is between you and G-d. It was your problem that you made it public to begin with. The Maccabi's are not your whores. The Maccabi's are not your smoke and mirror. Mel Gibson has a lot of nerve to blemish the good name of those who would of told this piss ant where to put it.
(Deadline) Warner Bros has set up an untitled drama that teams Gibson and screenwriter Joe Eszterhas on the telling of the heroic story of Jewish warrior Judah Maccabee. Eszterhas will write the script, and I understand that Gibson will collaborate with him. Maccabee teamed with his father and four brothers to lead the Jewish revolt against the Greek-Syrian armies that had conquered Judea in the second century B.C. Gibson has the first option to direct but will definitely produce the film through his Icon Productions banner. It’s understandable why Warner Bros would want to be back in business with Gibson, who was once a high-profile fixture there and who made a fortune for that studio with the Lethal Weapon series and other films.
A que from Obama. No one will think about your hatred and abuse if you declare Jew day in America.

Did Jew Like Beck?

Glenn Beck singles out Nine of the most dangerous people in the world (eight of whom just happen to be Jews), He even had to apologize after his ignorant comments comparing reform Judaism to Islam. Islam is the ultimate evil. An ideology that clearly promotes hate and violence against all non-Muslims, especially Jews. Reform Judaism, on the other hand, is a liberal movement that tries to love everyone (especially Muslims), says the JIDF
Glenn Beck has got it right on the Middle East says... says Barry Rubin........We can all be like "Elohim" who is one of many Adonai in outer space...with lots of goddess wives in a harem ....Certainly, Beck makes silly mistakes on factual matters and details. ...yeah, I'd say so. ... Yet what’s important is that he comprehends the big picture. ...Did I mention the goddess wife orgy...in outer space? ....I don’t say this based on a superficial view or on his support for Israel...

...Something about the Mormon church being...REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY... which actually is like the Catholic theology is not ...Born Again... in believing that the Jews will realize who the Messiah is when Yashuah returns....Thanks for the Jew Curse on FOX News and no elaboration that it was all a misunderstanding! His audience interpreted it just the way I understood it and his fans say it was only in reference to George Soros, but no one got it... so he doesn't explain. Leaves it out there for misunderstanding.  Jesus is going to get JEW later.

Hamas Warns Israel Not to Ally With Christian Zionist Terrorist Glenn Beck

Labels: » » » »
This is one of those reasons I do side with Beck one some issues. But this is another reason why you have to be careful with Christians of any flavor, should they represent you because your enemy puts you in a box with those whose final mission is acceptance of a man or men who claim to be divine and have not "finished" anything... which is the final test for Jews. Consider also that Beck might be a very good talk show host, but he has at the very least always erred on the side of informing his viewers over the danger of backlash against liberal Jews... I'd say he is poor Rep for Israel, regardless of if one accepts the contexts of his claimed misunderstandings.

Hyperbole, venom and BS from our trusted friends from Hamas
Glenn Beck
Gloating over the recent killings in Norway of dozens of innocent people at the hands of an Israel-inspired Christian Zionist terrorist, Glenn Beck, the American right-wing talk show host, compared the victims of the shooting at a Norwegian summer camp to Hitler Youth in his radio program on Monday, according to a Daily Telegraph report.

The “Hitler Youth” organization was a paramilitary youth organization comprising teenagers and children, entrusted with task of harassing and attacking and terrorizing perceived or real enemy of the Third Reich. It existed from 1922 to 1945.
Beck, a self-proclaimed Christian Zionist and Israel-firster, described the brutal carnage “as a shooting at a political camp, which sounds a little like the Hitler Youth. I mean who sends their kids to a political camp? Disturbing.”
He stopped short of praising the murderer, suggesting that the victims got what they deserved.
Torbjon Eriksen, a former press secretary to Jens Stoltenberg, Norway’s Prime Minister, dismissed Beck’s comments as “ignorant, incorrect and hurtful.”
“Young political activists have gathered at Utoya for over 60 years to learn about and be part of democracy, the very opposite of what the Hitler Youth was about,” he told The Daily Telegraph. “Glenn Beck’s comments are ignorant, incorrect and extremely hurtful.”
Beck is an ardent supporter of Israel. He is totally against any peace arrangement between the Jewish state and the Palestinians, especially one involving territorial “concessions” by the Zionist state.
Beck visited Israel last week during which he admonished Israeli leaders to refrain from “giving land” to the Palestinians, the authentic rightful owners of the land, because “you have no right to give away God’s land to the goyem or Gentiles.”
In the past, Beck and his other Christian Zionist fellows lauded and cheered Israeli massacres of Palestinians, including the intentional murder of hundreds of Palestinian and Lebanese civilians in Israeli aerial bombing and artillery bombardment.
There is no doubt that Beck’s comments are grave and serious for what they represent and signify. This is no less than a new kind of Nazism raising its ugly head.
Christian Zionism is the new Nazi beast, a kind of a Fourth Reich, looming on the horizon. It is evil, murderous and genocidal.
They mendaciously call themselves Christians. However, their hateful speech, vindictive behavior and the nefarious way they relate to those who disagree with them suggest that they possess no iota of true Christian morality.
The message of Christ is based on love and peace, but the Christian Zionist manifesto is based on death and destruction. This means these people take their cue, not from Christ and his values, but rather from Old Testament savageries and other hateful ideologies that represent the ultimate antithesis of everything that Jesus taught.
Like their Jewish Zionist colleagues in hate, Christian Zionists would like to induce and expedite violence, tribulations, wars and genocides on a huge scale in order to accelerate the second advent of Jesus. This is why these genocidal monomaniacs wouldn’t mind if Israel exterminated millions of Palestinians, Muslims as well as Christians, as long as the genocide would effect and speed up Jesus’ second coming.
Likewise, these criminal fanatics, utterly immune to rationality, reasonability and common sense, wouldn’t mind a no-holds-barred approach to those who disagree with them. Hence, liberal-minded people, leftists, Muslims and other Christians, such as Roman Catholics, would have to be slaughtered and annihilated, all in Jesus’ name.
Even their current strange bed-fellows, the Zionist Jews, would eventually have to convert or die.
The ostensible embrace by a key representative of the American evangelical Zionist camp of the recent Oslo massacre and its perpetrator exposes naked a pornographically violent cult that calls itself Christian while actually doing Hitler’s work.
Just imagine the fact that we are talking about a combination of evil forces at work, including the nefarious powerful freemason cult, which penetrates many societies and governments, the Zionist movement, and neo-fascist Islamophobes seeking to ignite an internecine clash between Islam and the West.
The evil forces are enemy to both true Christianity and Islam, which necessitates that the followers of both great religions put up a united stand against a common enemy that is hell-bent on exterminating millions to fulfill its morbid whims and vagaries.
Today, it is Oslo; tomorrow it may be London, Paris, Berlin and Rome. The Catholic world is especially at risk of being a chief target of these mindless fanatics who think that the Pope is enemy number-1 to Jesus Christ. Hence, one would have to be constantly vigilant because these highly-motivated fanatics are capable of doing the unthinkable.
Finally, there are many short-sighted Jews who are effectively shooting themselves in the foot by joining ranks with these genocidal Christian extremists. Zionist Jews may be prompted to think that these mindless fanatics and gullible extremists are “useful idiots” who can be used to malign Islam and help the Israel win “the public relations battle.”
However, it should be understood that befriending, let alone embracing these dangerous people, would be akin to placing a venomous snake in one’s lap.
It could kill you.
Enough hyperbole. The Hamas charter is clear what Hamas has in store for the Jews. The rest is projection, dumb and hysterical propaganda from a bunch of murderous killers. via sheikyermami.com

Beck says children who were murdered in Oslo were like the Hitler Youth

Labels: »
Media_httpimgibtimesc_hthft
He trivialized the Holocaust yesterday when he said the children who were murdered in Oslo were like the Hitler Youth says the JIDF.
In March 1945, the Nazi regime ordered its press to publish a death toll of 200,000 for the Dresden raids. Death toll estimates as high as 500,000 have been given. An independent investigation commissioned by the city council in 2010 reported a maximum of 25,000 victims
...Well I agree with Beck there. Norway is the enemy to me. I wouldn't say the tactic used to kill them was prudent or rational. The actions were the ramblings of a psychopath, but I most certainly can make the intellectual leap that a higher power would do something like this through a very flawed person. I also would not of wanted to stop the bombing of Dresden during WWII

Glenn Beck's Restoring Courage rally will NOT be held at the South Wall of the Temple Mount

Glenn Beck's Restoring Courage rally will NOT be held at the South Wall of the Temple Mount as originally planned due to fear of assassination. .

If they hold the rally on the Mount of Olives, I hope they do it in the lower part where they will not have to go through Arab neighborhoods to get there.
I wonder whether they will consider Mount Scopus on the Hebrew U campus, which has a stunning view of the Old City and the Temple Mount.

@JIDF Glen Beck’s Rallies in Israel: Pro-Israel or Pro-Apocalypse?

Labels:
I don't think Beck is an Anti-Semite, but I really do think he isn't fully aware of what he is doing. I actually think he really loves Jews. I also think he has in the past put Jews in a situation on television that inspires people to retaliate against Jews. I do not believe he is lying to us. I believe he is lying to himself. I also think he really intends well. It would really help me take him seriously if he would owe up to what happened in the past with him. It would show some humility. What I see from here is a guy with a huge ego who can't apologize. His ego does not allow him to see the trouble he caused. This tells me he really wants to do the right thing. I'm really getting tired of this subject, because the truth is I think he is a very talented man who enlightened the country from our leftist economic indoctrination. Even my own indoctrination. Because of this I think he subconsciously has too much to lose by saying sorry.

Richard Landes

Glenn Beck presents himself to Israel as a dedicated and whole-hearted friend. In the context of the last decade’s dramatic developments (2000-2010), that puts Beck in a special category. Because lately, very few people are as nice to Israel as he is. When the second (phase of the) Intifada exploded with particular violence in October 2000, the “left” – progressives who want peace in the world – split into two opposing currents. On the one hand, some Israeli observers in particular, argued that the enemy they wanted to make peace with had no desire for peace, that the Palestinian leadership – Fatah or Hamas – viewed Israeli concessions as a sign of weakness, and responded with violence. On the other hand, other observers blamed Israel for the failure, and called for her to make still more concessions. In a highly vocal and most extreme form, this “peace-camp” assault on Israel involves disturbingly vindictive rhetoric (Israel is the new Nazi). In Israel where the confrontation with Jihad was deadly daily, the majority turned to the first school (electoral drop for “left”; widespread support for the separation barrier). In the diaspora, defenders of Israel found themselves increasingly beleaguered, silent, embarrassed in the public sphere, while radical prophets of “self-criticism” – most of them identifying “as a Jew” – relentlessly assailed Israel. One can understand the solitary dilemmas of a liberal Jew in Israel when faced with this inexplicable assault. We know that Israel sets exceptionally high standards for itself, and in failing to meet them, still perform at the highest standards (C- to A- absolute; A+ on a curve). We understand, alas, that our enemy openly embraces those very desires we deny ourselves (massive revenge, genocidal hatreds, religious violence). So why on earth would the progressive left, the peace camp, turn against us, and not against the Palestinians? Under these circumstances, it’s understandable that Zionists would listen gladly to a voice that said: “We’re with you, guy. We understand what a terrible enemy you have. We identify with you because you uphold the same values that we do: freedom, independence, the sacredness of human life. You are not alone. We recognize your efforts to adhere to civilized values, and admire you for your courage and your successes against all odds… “remain faithful to your ideals, and strong in your struggle.” This expresses a Philo-Judaic Christian Zionism that many fundamentalists enthusiastically voice. It’s tempting then to respond favorably when someone like Glenn Beck, an emotional, charismatic, articulate man, who openly expresses his love for Israel, comes with his arms open in embrace. Apparently some Israelis open up their arms in response. MKs Danny Danon (Likud) and Nissim Ze’ev (Shas), recently hosted him in the Knesset. Beck is especially music to the ears of those who believe with him that “Jews have a right to live in all parts of the Land of Israel, and that while Arabs have a right to live here, the do not have a right to sovereignty.”The problem, of course, is: what strain of Philo-Judaic Christian Zionism does Glenn Beck represent? At one end of the spectrum that goes from Dual Covenant to Supersessionism, we have simple-hearted love: “I admire you; I want your friendship; I extend my hand in an act of mutual respect.” Those who feel this way are, I suspect, many; and their feelings are both good and true. They embrace “those who bless you will be blessed” without envy. They engage Jews without wanting to convert them. But there is another end of this spectrum of Philo-Judaism, one significantly less open and simple. On the contrary, this form of Christian Zionism views the Jews as their Messiah’s donkey, as the vehicle for bringing about a triumphalist Christian apocalypse in which all the evil – including those Jews who refuse to convert to Christianity – will be exterminated by the armies of the Lord. According to this apocalyptic scenario, the Battle of Armageddon and the return of Christ (the Parousia) would not happen until the Jews had reassembled in the land. Hence, their ardent Zionism has a significant ulterior motive linked to both conversion and war. For the latest block-buster rendering of this scenario, see Jerusalem Countdown coming to a theater near you this Fall. There are two points to be made in “defense” of this apocalyptic scenario. 1) It is resolutely passive: the apocalyptic drama may be horrible, but the tribulation is a divine punishment, not a human one. And 2) compared with earlier Christian apocalyptic scenarios, it is the only one that even provisionally favors Jewish redemptive movements (like Zionism). All earlier and much subsequent Christian apocalyptic belief illustrated the law of apocalyptic dynamics: one person’s Messiah is another’s Antichrist. For them – and for current Muslim – apocalyptic thinkers, any messianic stirring among Jews triggered paranoid visions of Antichrist/Dajjal, and in its worst forms, triggered slaughters of Jews. So, as bad as the news is on the apocalyptic front – “Rapture” Christians are the least hostile – it could be worse.Philo-Judaic Christians constantly struggle between these two currents, and combine them in various ways, at once to preserve their good conscience in befriending the Jews, and to maintain links with particularly charismatic circles within their faith community. And at moments of real crisis, however, they may have to choose between the two. After the millennial Nazis took power, Buber and Rosenzweig were astounded to find their Protestant theological dialogue partners would not defend or protect them: “What did you expect?” they replied, “You didn’t convert.” Hopefully, this time, Protestants faced with choosing between their commitment to positive-sum relations with Jews – mutual respect, mutual benefit – and their attraction to a zero-sum, cataclysmic apocalyptic scenario – Christians triumph, Jews disappear – will choose the former path. Everyone’s fortune depends on it.Under normal circumstances, it is difficult to tell a genuinely philo-Judaic Christian from an apocalyptic one, because they both express an enthusiastic love for Jews and Israel. The presence of strong “evangelical” desire to convert Jews is one fairly strong (but hardly infallible), normal-time, indicator of zero-sum apocalyptic tendencies. But the surest give-away comes when an apocalyptic Zionist begins to believe that the final moment is in motion. At this point, they become more open about their apocalyptic scenario, more open about their specifically Christian agenda, more impatient with frustration.Alas, Glenn Beck looks very much like this latter kind of believer. His enthusiasm for Israel is great; his commitment to a triumphalist Christianity increasingly assertive, his interest in all matters apocalyptic acute, his plans for a series of gatherings in Jerusalem, grandiose. Indeed, in his discussion with Chuck Hagee, Beck looks determined to see Ahmadinejad or some other Muslim apocalyptic pretender as the Antichrist, thus illustrating the first zero-sum law of apocalyptic dynamics: one person’s messiah is another’s anti-Christ.Beck’s ambitions to play a leading role in a national and international drama were on full display at his August 28, 2010 “Restore Honor” Rally on the Washington Esplanade before the Monument. Language like “it will be a historic moment… provide a shock-wave to this nation, a defibrillator to the heart of America, something miraculous…” suggests that Beck sees himself and his charismatic media presence as a history-changing phenomenon. While far from the full-grown messianic pretensions of Ahmadinejad, these are signs that a Glenn Beck, buoyed by his successes in the media, has shifted towards an evangelical style – much to some evangelicals discomfort – that increasingly mobilizes mass emotions. His speech to the Knesset replayed these themes, his “Abrahamic moment” in which God chose him to play a key role, his reference to himself as a new Esther, who alone was in a position to play the key role in the redemption of the Jews (for Esther it was being queen; for Beck, apparently, it is his voice in the media). The repeated expressions of support for him, including among the most thoughtful of Zionist commentators, suggests that many would prefer to see a friend. Often the argument is about the past: there is no evidence in earlier Beck pronouncements on Jews and the Arab-Israeli conflict to suggest that he’s an advocate of replacement theology. The problem is not the past. Apocalyptic beliefs arise sometimes seemingly out of nowhere, out of some millennial stew that marries the narcissistic dream (shared by many, both Christians and Muslims) that all the world will become like them with a sense of crisis that suggests that now is the time, and we (I, Glenn Beck) are called upon to act.It is at times like this that a passive scenario can gain significant elements of active human participation. And one of the common moves from passive to active among those with a cataclysmic apocalyptic scenario (like pre-millennialists), is to trigger the battle that will force God’s hand to intervene. There’s a community of fundamentalists in Amarillo Texas who arm US military nuclear weapons (not an easy thing to get Americans to do), because they believe that an atomic war is what God wants.Beck is not that kind of an arsonist. On the contrary, I’m not sure he’s sure about his role in all this. My sense is that he’s feeling his way into a apocalyptic role, and following the path of most drama – from electrifying events in DC to cosmic ones in Jerusalem.A large assembly of charismatic and enthused Christians just below al Aqsa mosque is a bold move, and participants like Joe Lieberman and Sarah Palin raise the electoral stakes in the USA. Some, aware of how short a fuse governs Muslim behavior about anything to do with the Temple Mount – i.e., Haram al Sharif – might even think it provocative. And I think that Glenn Beck honestly does not want to trigger a violent conflagration. He is sincere in his love of Israel and his desire to do good. But the apocalyptic scenario with which he flirts, and which promises the Endtime victory for Christianity, involves a war; and if that’s what God wants from this earthly vessel, then Beck will fulfill his assigned role, filled with love for the nation upon whose head he brings down Armageddon. In many ways, Beck’s challenge to Israel embodies so many of the tragic contradictions that play out in the public sphere these days. Here the committed apocalyptic believer can recognize and will talk about Muslim apocalyptic ambitions, while the allegedly more sober seculars are inexcusably silent. (The Post-911 site at NYU which has a whole section on ChristianMedia, says nothing about the far more dangerous Muslim apocalyptic currents which caused 9-11.) Beck’s comments on the reluctance of people to hear or speak about Israel’s foes, his advice to Israel not to try and win over the media but speak directly to the American people, and the value of cyberspace in this effort, are all, in my opinion, quite sound. Here Israel, abandoned by the progressive camp, finds itself forced to/wanting to embrace a friend with such outrageous and disturbing hopes, while the allegedly sober seculars, who refuse to note the apocalyptic shrieks from Muslim anti-Semites, detect the anti-Semitic “dogwhistles” coming from Beck. Here Israel must navigate between the Scylla of apocalyptic Christian love/hate and the Charybdis of genocidal apocalyptic Muslim hatred. And her natural allies, the alleged “peace camp,” where they are not hypocritical and counterproductive, have, wittingly or unwittingly, joined with her worst enemies. Glenn Beck may or may not be crazy, but his story illustrates the pervasive folly of our times. And it seems to me that those most ready to call him mad and anti-Semitic, are themselves deeply committed to a similar, in some ways far more disturbing madness.

Glenn Beck: "I'm not against a Palestinian state."

Glenn Beck forum said Israel did 9/11

There also is plenty of information on replacement theology. Beck might think he is doing the right thing by Jews, but he also thinks he is capable of becoming a Polygamous God bringing the world to light skin. I actually did like his show... he educated people on TV in a way that no one else could on many economic issues. I also liked his personality... but restoring "Courage" means pointing out that Jews don't need to tolerate a "Replacement" theology that is an existential threat. It means that Jews can speak out. It means that Jews know that Christianity has been a threat to their faith. It means that we know that at a drop of a hat a theology that wants to survive after the guilt of a Holocaust can become a public relations lie.
...if he really were serious about his support for Israel ...then Beck would apologize instead of censoring past mistakes he said recorded on YouTube.

@CriticalAnalyst:
4 a Palestinian state? it is very clear by his answer that it's yes. Mormonism is replacement ideology like Catholicism.

...More than one MK spoke out against a Palestinian state in the committee meeting, but Beck told Channel 10 news later that evening that he would not oppose such a state.
"I'm not against a Palestinian state." he said. ....Beck has never come out in favor of freeing Jonathan Pollard from prison, a cause which MK Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) and MK Marina Solodkin (Kadima) mentioned to the commentator at the meeting. more via Jewish Internet Defense Force

if #Glenn #Beck did repent, he would be worthy of receiving forgiveness. Very worthy, but he has to admit wrong.

It is lamentable that even incisive analysts such as Dr. Daniel Pipes have appeared on Beck’s show, whilst remaining completely unaware of Beck’s affection for certain anti-Semites who share his tendencies to rely on conspiracy theories. Incidentally, none of this settles well with Beck’s declared support for Israel, but anti-Semitism frequently goes hand in hand with a conspiratorial mindset. Of course, there are many other cases of anti-Semitic groups and individuals such as the British National Party (BNP) and Srdja Trifkovic, who have no trouble in proclaiming themselves to be pro-Israel. In June 2010, Beck promoted on air the work of a Nazi sympathizer by the name of Elizabeth Dilling, who, in writings that Beck neglected to mention, derided Eisenhower as “Ike the kike” and Kennedy’s New Frontier as the “Jew Frontier.”
A few days later, Beck discussed George Soros’ Jewish ancestry, accused him of currency manipulation and mocked him for “disturbing hair in his nose,” besides claiming that Soros was a Nazi collaborator. More recently, Beck devoted an entire show around two weeks ago to a conspiracy theory on bankers such as the Rothschilds and the creation of the Federal Reserve. To promote his argument, he hosted the anti-Semitic conspiracy theorist G. Edward Griffin, who not only believes that “present-day political Zionists are promoting the New World Order,” but also that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion “accurately describe much of what is happening in our world today.”" via propagandistmag.com

Good Riddance To Glenn Beck

Labels: »
glenn beck fox news conservative political propaganda conspiracy theoriesWhy should conservatives - and all across the political spectrum-applaud Fox’s recent decision to discontinue Glenn Beck’s show_on its news channel? After all, when Glenn Beck first appeared on Fox News to host his show in January 2009, right in the midst of the greatest economic crash since the Great Depression, his forecasts of doom and angry pessimism were able to attract some 3 million viewers a night.
His influence has subsequently become apparent as his reports led to the resignation of Van Jones, the White House’s former ‘green jobs’ adviser, in September 2009, and tens of thousands attended a rally he organized with Sarah Palin at the Lincoln Memorial in August 2010.
Nonetheless, two reasons come to mind that seal the case against Beck:
Promoting conspiracy theories: In contrast to Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity, who stick to reality when commenting on the Obama administration (even if one does not generally agree with their analyses and interpretations), Beck has had a tendency to advance ridiculous conspiracy theories that defy the facts. For instance, on one showing of Fox and Friends, Beck warned that the Obama administration is guiding the United States in the direction of “a country heading towards socialism, totalitarianism, beyond your wildest dreams. ..If you have any kind of fear that we might be heading towards a totalitarian state: look out. Buckle up.” Such rhetoric has by no means been exceptional on Beck’s program. As David Frum points out, Beck has offered on a daily basis “alternative knowledge” that goes completely against reality, forming a “closed information system.”
Though corporate profits increase dramatically, Beck asserts that the free-market is under assault at the hands of socialism. While prices slump, he warns of imminent hyperinflation. As African-Americans suffer from Depression-level unemployment owing to the recession, he has the temerity to smear Obama and his government for supposedly harboring a “deep-seated hatred for white people.” In the meantime, he attributes the uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa to a Leftist-Muslim conspiracy aiming to establish a global caliphate. Once Beck’s penchant for conspiracies is taken into account, the reason why he attracted so many viewers in the middle of the economic crisis becomes evident.
Dalliances with anti-Semitism: It is lamentable that even incisive analysts such as Dr.
Edward Griffin, who not only believes that “present-day political Zionists are promoting the New World Order,” but also that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion “accurately describe much of what is happening in our world today.”
At the same time, it is disheartening to see the number of conservatives who have defended Beck by employing the fallacious tu quoque argument, whenever moderate commentators such as Jennifer Rubin have exposed Beck’s extremism. As Rubin herself puts it, the argument in defense of Beck essentially boils down to “the left is worse.” This is simply not a valid line of reasoning to justify his conduct.
Conservatives need to give Fox credit for finally deciding to put an end to giving Beck any sort of respectable outlet for broadcasting his deranged opinions, despite the window-dressing in the joint statement with Beck’s production company that there will still be cooperation “to develop and produce a variety of television projects.” We can now be confident that Beck, a voice who has only served to tar and discredit the reputation of the American right as a whole, will be confined to the fringes of political discourse where he rightly belongs.

Glenn Beck ForumIsrael did 9/11 - Jewish Internet Defense Force: There is one logical grammatical exception to Beck calling the Jews an abomination and receiving the wrath of vengeance from Jesus.

....and that is Beck saying that Jesus is the abomination. Either way...that context is terribly clear...and he is attacking Jews or Jesus himself. It is clear and self contained with one exception that also is terribly offensive. We realize since Beck said this...that he has been kissing our asses. Go to six minutes on the Beck Video to see the exact point I am making. The context is terribly clear.

ADL attacks Glenn Beck and I couldn't care less

if there ever was Taqiyya... the ADL is under the influence:  and it isn't like I'm a fan of Beck either.
New York, NY - The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today criticized as “completely inappropriate and offensive” remarks by Glenn Beck on his radio and television programs, in which he inaccurately connected George Soros, who was then a young boy, to the actions of others in sending Jews to death camps during the Holocaust.

On his November 10 radio show, Beck described how Soros, who was born in Hungary to Orthodox Jewish parents, “used to go around with this anti-Semite and deliver papers to the Jews and confiscate their property and then ship them off.  And George Soros was part of it.  He would help confiscate the stuff.  It was frightening.  Here’s a Jewish boy helping send the Jews to the death camps.”

Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director and a Holocaust survivor, issued the following statement:

Glenn Beck’s description of George Soros’ actions during the Holocaust is completely inappropriate, offensive and over the top.  For a political commentator or entertainer to have the audacity to say – inaccurately – that there’s a Jewish boy sending Jews to death camps, as part of a broader assault on Mr. Soros, that’s horrific.

While I, too, may disagree with many of Soros’ views and analysis on the issues, to bring in this kind of innuendo about his past is unacceptable.  To hold a young boy responsible for what was going on around him during the Holocaust as part of a larger effort to denigrate the man is repugnant.

The Holocaust was a horrific time, and many people had to make excruciating choices to ensure their survival.  George Soros has been forthright about his childhood experiences and his family’s history, and there the matter should rest.

Glenn Beck forum: Israel did 9/11 - Jewish Internet Defense Force

The 9/12 Project, which is Glenn Beck's loose-knit political organization, is promoting Alan Hart's slanderous charges that Israel destroyed the World Trade Center on 9/11 using "controlled ground explosives" and airplanes steered by remote control devices hidden in cell phones. He claimed, first in an internet radio interview by Kevin Barrett, then in a radio interview with Alex Jones, that the world's foremost engineering firm has told him of the truth of this conspiracy. He claims that he is currently unable to provide any further information about this or to identify his sources because he doesn't have access to the computer in which that data is stored. He went on to claim that this story is "well documented". As implausible as his story is, Hart's tall tale has been repeated in a variety of forums, including Pat Buchanan's blog and the website of the Ron Paul campaign.
Now the Glenn Beck crowd has joined in.

Geert Wilders and the Glenn Beck show

Labels: » » » » » » »
so Beck attacked Geert Wilders. if Geert were really far right wing extreme then why is Beck endorsing his position on his own show? Beck is a total hypocrite and is unstable. Beck since when has the far right supported gay rights and stood up to Shariah law to protect artists like Theo Van Gogh who was also gay? Looks like the Saudi Royalty really did buy a lot of Rupert's ass through his dhimmi son's Ivy League connections.

update: it is silly 2 assume anyone who is not doing some particular thing is refraining because he believes that 2 do would be wrong. this is a response to Krauthammer's idea that American Muslims were peaceful.
Wilders has come out strongly in condemnation of far-right European parties like Front National and Vlaams Belang, suggesting that the Dutch MP’s beliefs, while inconsistent with regard to the Qur'an and Islam, are significantly more complicated than the pundits portray them. Wilders, who calls himself an advocate of freedom, has argued that the Dutch prohibition of Hitler’s Mein Kampf is contradictory when the Qur'an, Islam’s holy book, calls for violence. His provoking film, Fitna, lays out his case that Islam maintains violent elements. Wilders’ criticism of the Islamic faith should lead to civilized discussion on theology as opposed to calls for censorship and labels which attempt to stigmatize. While I disagree with the position of banning literature, especially as it may open the door for banning both religious and secular texts, Wilders undoubtedly has a right to freedom of speech.
The American media ought to be monitoring Geert Wilders’ trial in which he is accused of “the incitement to hatred and discrimination.” Mr. Wilders' trial has more implications than many may think. Wilders is being persecuted for voicing provocative ideas that should be discussed rather than censored, a point which Fox News clearly missed on Monday evening.

Before: (update: this video was pulled by the FOX NETWORK, but it shows Beck agreeing with Geert's positions. Obviously we have some conspiracy going on at News Corp.

here is an updated version

After:

Beck’s criticism of Wilders is pretty dismissible since the populist TV commentator does not appear particularly versed in European affairs. Indeed, in the video linked at his name, Beck erroneously identifies French politician Dominique de Villepin as “far right” and then mispronounces his name – in fingers down a blackboard fashion – as if he had confused the Chirac protégé with the truly fascist Jean Marie le Pen. Maybe he had. Only his producers, who have served him poorly here, know for sure. And maybe even they don’t, which is the problem. (Beck should also have another look at Jonah Goldberg’s book and at Hayek’s The Road to Serfdom before he makes such simplistic conclusions about fascism, the left and the right across the pond.)
The majority of Muslims are law-abiding citizens and want to live a peaceful life as you and I do. I know that. That is why I always make a clear distinction between the people, the Muslims, and the ideology, between Islam and Muslims. There are many moderate Muslims, but there is no such thing as a moderate Islam.
Wilders is making a theological point here — his contention is that Islam, as set forth in the teachings of the Koran, “commands Muslims to exercise jihad. . .to establish shariah law [and]. . .to impose Islam on the entire world.” I’m no scholar of Islam, but I believe Wilders is correct. To show otherwise, one would have to explain away portions of the Koran. It is not enough just to call Wilders’ interpretation of that book “narrow.”
via pajamasmedia.com
"if Wilders is correct, and the line between Islam and Islamism is as blurred as the Dutchman posits, then we in the West are in very deep trouble indeed."
Wilders also makes many conservatives uncomfortable because, as Roger notes, he called for banning the Koran in Holland the way Mein Kampf is restricted in that country, to scholars in libraries -- a step I oppose. Wilders has said he never really wanted a true banning and that he made his call to give publicity to this issue in his country.
If so, this was a misguided way to go about generating publicity. But it doesn't seriously detract from Roger's conclusion that Wilders "is a highly intelligent man on the front lines of the struggle for a secular and free Europe and should not be dismissed - or misunderstood."

$audi FOX NEWS

http://xrl.us/FOXNEWS
foxA recent column of mine alluded to a deal that Rupert Murdoch had concluded with one of the Princes in the Saudi Arabian Muslim leadership. At that time there were no details available, but since that time we have seen Fox News and its affiliates swarming with actions favorable to our worst enemy, Muslim law.
Old favorites on Fox that once preached good old fashioned American values and candidates such as O’Reilly, Beck, Hannity and others are now, according to a fresh blog from Neil Turner, Citizens for the Constitution on February 15, 2010, “in the enemy camp, and will be promoting ISLAM, a political system that is abhorrent to our Constitution, as it advocates the overthrow of our Government and our Sovereignty BY FORCE!”

Turner furnishes an article written by John Charlton, February 15, 2010, on Socialism is not the Answer in which Charlton states that “…the former conservative news agency” has entered into a campaign against candidates in Georgia and Texas who have announced their candidacy for governor who “also question the eligibility of Barack Hussein Obama to hold the office of U. S. President.” Namely, Georgia Gubernatorial Candidate Nathan Deal and Texas Gubernatorial Candidate Debra Medina.
Charlton went on to say that Fox “showed its true colors” by giving credence to a statement by an opponent of Nathan Deal who criticized Deal for pressing Obama to release his birth certificate. The opponent, Georgia state legislator Austin Scott, claimed Deal hindered working with the president by calling for “childish things like the president to show his birth certificate.”
I agree with Charlton that there is nothing “childish” about challenging Obama about his secrecy in not revealing a Constitutional requirement to confirm his qualification to hold that office. With all the uncertainty as to his legal right to run for the office and the mysterious actions taken by Obama to prevent public display of the original birth document along with just about every other document covering his life from child to adult, asking for verification is a tout showing of mature thinking as opposed to the charge of “childishness.”
Charlton finishes saying, “By this statement, FOX has made it absolutely clear to America that they will not tolerate anyone who will not work with Obama and be respectful to him”; as well as “American patriots need to start asking themselves what other so-called “conservative” sources of information have been bought out by the same forces, which want to keep Obama in power, for the sake of Islam.”
Another true patriot who offers opinions on NewsWithViews. om and other true conservative outlets including Canada Free Press, Dr. Laurie Roth on February 12, 2010 in the former, asked the question: “Who Is Influencing and Controlling Fox?”
In her ‘get-right-to- the-heart- of-it’ style, Roth inquires of the reader, “did you know that the second largest owner of Fox, parent corporation Rupert Murdoch’s http://xrl.us/NewsCorp is Prince Ahwaleed binTalal of Saudi Arabia?” She claims that the Prince has been buying his anti-Semitic and Muslim way right into American life with $20 million gifts such as given to Georgetown and Harvard Universities for Islamic study departments.
Dr. Roth also states that the generous Prince gave $500,000 to CAIR the Council on American Islamic Relations but he also gave $27 million “to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers”, calling them “martyrs.”
She explains that the Prince is a rather close friend of Murdoch’s son James “who is known for his anti-Israel views and left wing radical environmental and global warming nonsense.”
These revelations may seem shocking to many of us, myself included, and a feeling of being betrayed somehow penetrates all of my senses and feelings. The entire Mainstream Media has abandoned all American patriots looking for assistance to prevent a socialist takeover of our country, but at least we thought we had Fox News Corp. on our side. Now sadly we find that they have deserted us.
All the more reason why we have got to start recruiting born and bred American patriots; cull the ranks of patriotic organizations and look for leaders to fight for our American ideals and get them elected to Congress. It’s our only hope to save our country from Islam rule and total socialism.
OK. We can’t trust Fox anymore so we have to look for online conservative voices that can be trusted to carry our message of freedom and right. When you do find a worthy candidate make it known to as many like-minded persons you can contact. This battle against evil and evil people is just beginning. Don’t give up. Keep fighting. We’re all we have left. And above all, tell them to be wary of sheiks in sheep’s clothing.
O’Reilly, Beck, Hannity, Van Susteren, Judas is thy name. I’ll leave Rupert Murdoch for you, my readers, to name.

he is partly right about the artist's in question, but also very wrong about Rockefeller who was bamboozled consistently by the artists whose work he loved. verges on hysterical conspiracies because we know the radical right seem to think Rockefeller was involved with Rothchild and the FED.
