Kermit Roosevelt, Jr.

When Kermit Jr. was 27, his father, a man who tended to drink heavily, committed suicide in Alaska where he had been stationed as an intelligence officer with the U.S. Army. In the late 1940s he was on the board of directors of an organization called the Institute of Arab American Affairs. This organization republished an article by him in Foreign Affairs in pamphlet form that made the argument that "US support of Zionism will be detrimental to long term US interests in the Middle East."
The irony is that this Kermit was who botched Iran up when the country tried to nationalize their resources to protect itself from abuse. The end result of Roosevelt's actions ironically brought in the Ayatolahs... Israel's greatest nemesis.
Amideast, formerly American Friends of the Middle East, originally the Committee for Justice and Peace in the Holy Land, an organization created to oppose the creation of Israel. Its co-founder Kermit Roosevelt Jr had come out of the board of the Institute of Arab-American Affairs, which was headed by the same man who headed the Arab League's office in the United States
